App Catalog Sure, Apple and President Obama may have stolen the headlines for the day, but that doesn’t mean there was nothing important happening in the world of webOS today. In fact there was important stuff, including but not limited to the lack of an iPhone coming to Verizon. Truly, the important stuff is that which will help to sustain the platform through the coming years, and that important stuff is going to be apps. Thankfully, Palm and the growing legions of webOS developers are bringing the apps in full force, with several exciting apps landing recently - including a handful of new 3D games (does it show that we’re still excited about the PDK?). ZOMG FIRST!!! :P
Love the new 3D games, keep it up Gameloft!

"ZOMG FIRST!!!"

And?

Uhh sarcasm...

cool now Dijit is doing ringtone apps..... ugh make it stop.

Cool for the new games... I have a feeling i'm going to blow a lot of cash on these games.

I am so glad the apps are flowing. For the first time I had a friend with the Hero say he has app envy b/c of the games that are pouring in!! Hopefully much more to come.

haha my gf says the same thing now, she has a hero too

What's the chances we will ever have multiplayer online games for webos? That would be very cool.

That would be epic.

And then like I said on a post a few weeks ago, we'd be one step closer to my dream of World of Warcraft on WebOS. :D

Indeed. Are there any mobile platform (Android/iPhone) simplified MMORPG type games out there that could port in? A small questing/fighting game like that might be fun.

And also something like Reversi XP (quick online Othello) would be nice.

I understand that you're probably referring to the ability to play BIA with a friend or something... But isn't there already a card game that you get match-made games with real people? That at least shows that it's possible...

Checkers Pro, I believe. No, multiplayer is very doable, provided your remote servers support it.

Card Ace: Hold 'Em is the online multiplayer Texas Hold 'Em Poker game that Pre users have been waiting for! check it out! http://www.precentral.net/node/12092

"StopWatch Elite, $0.99, by Suruat: Simple stopwatch with laps, landscape mode, and bible verses."

Is that a typo, or does the stopwatch really display Bible verses as it runs? I'm at a loss for how to describe that combination. "Odd" just doesn't seem a strong enough word.

Yes, there appears to be a rather vocal religious population among webOS developers.

I wonder if it's the same on other platforms...

Brighthouse Labs and Dijit are still at it.

181 apps in the catalog today. All free apps, not a single game, Palm is obviously not serious about money making, if they were, they would make it a priority to make payable apps available for the thousands of customers who have reimported unlocked versions in Europe and elsewhere.....

Ts ts ts....

as usual, we canadians sit and wait like(we are) a second class citizen.

Oh, get off it already. We all get stuck waiting for the coolest phones being churned out in Asia and Europe, too. I can think of many times where I'd see a really great phone that was only released in Europe. There's a lot of red tape involved when you're exporting new tech around the world. It's a simple fact of life. No one is persecuting you because you're Canadians. They want your dollars just like they want anyone else's.

@muppet_funk As the app runs The are Bible Verses that Scroll through the screen. Check out the screen shot. If u get it please send me feedback, its my first app
