With 4000+ apps, we’ve seen a lot run through the App Catalog. But every now and then we see something that catches us by surprise. We’d been expecting eventually to see apps with the name Hewlett-Packard attached to them, but what we didn’t expect to see was HP as the developer of Top 100 Rock Songs of All Time. Looking at the developer homepage of nuTsie.com it makes a bit more sense, as HP did buy nuTsie/Melodeo back in June. But what does it mean? It’s so intense.

Top 100 songs from HP? Are you serious? That's Brighthouse material.
LOL, there is your big creative minds at HP working hard to bring more apps to the catalog. :P
Now, we can expect "Top 100" songs from every decade, genre, etc. I think I am going to have to install the patch to block HP apps from my catalog.
See my comments below. Apparently these aren't directly from HP. whewww!
did anyone confirm that those are really from HP? it doesn't seem like something they would want to put their name on...
Yep, pure trash. I hope that's not what they call innovation...
Are you kidding me? 100 awesome songs for $2 and that doesn't interest you? It's not a list, it's a music collection for $2. I think you can't get a better music deal for that legally.
You aren't getting 100 songs for $2. For $2 you're getting a playlist of 100 songs streamed to your phone with the option to buy them from the music store. Not much different from Pandora or Slacker really.
is this true? has anyone confirmed it?
"Each app retails for $1.99, and plays their respective genre/grouping of songs shuffled and commercial-free over Wi-Fi or cellular data. Of course, since this is streaming music you don
Let it also be noted that these apps are not part of the internal develop-for-webOS contest from HP. Thankfully.
just got the top 100 90s. I've got it plugged into the stereo. Ahh, the 90s.
it's automatically set to random play. nice
At first I thought that the HP apps were no better than Brighthouse Labs'. But if you get 100 full songs for $2, that's actually a decent deal. Although you could probably do the same with a free internet radio station.
Does anyone remember HP purchasing or starting this nutSie company?
yes, they recently made the acquisition of nutSie...
Is anyone still having problems updating their apps on sprint? I haven't been able to update for a few days now...
Still having the problem...my error states: "The action could not be completed try again later".
you can update them one at a time via Preware.
No diggity
It's a full-on, double complete rainbow in my front yard!!!!
HP can only fail. Whatever they do, fail. People don't even really look anymore.
No own music service for webOS? Fail. Itunes integration? Fail. A streaming music service for webOS? Fail.
Palm announces Pre early? Fail, you shouldn't announce that early, kills the buzz.
Palm doesn't announce Pre2 early? Fail, where are our announcements, other companies have them!?
Pre2 has small plastic screen? Fail, it's not glass, it sucks, and too tiny!
Pre2 has big glass screen? Fail, breaks more easily, sucks, and lol, takes up more volume than my 1997 nokia.
