App Catalog Whooo nelly, is AppBookShop back or what? Yeah, we’re going to continue to poke fun at you when we can. But at least you aren’t just pumping out repackaged public domain books, right? Regardless, there are other developers out there making other apps:

  • BFG Maps has been more than popular in the homebrew scene, and now it makes its debut in the App Catalog: it’s everything the default Google Maps app should be. There’s Street View, the ability to save Favorites, Wikipedia and Foursquare layers, traffic alert icons, and so much more.
  • College Football Gameline puts the latest BCS college football scores at your fingertips, and includes a customizable notification-area ticker for your favorite teams.
  • Both RISK and Rock Band have finally gone international, to the tune of $6.99 in your local currency. Hope that’s worth it, Europe.

I don't think Rock Band has even hit the US app catalog yet. I just ran a search for it on my 1.4.5 Sprint Pre both through the App Catalog app and Preware; the App Catalog found absolutely nothing, and Preware found only the International version.

The large number of developers to "update" their app every day (minor comment changes usually) to keep it near the top of the recent apps list is now worse then the Brighthouse and AppBookShop guys IMO. Most of them doing it are complete crap apps too. If they made a good app that people wanted they could make money selling it AND have a chance at the PDK Hot Apps money. Instead they try to simply win PDK Hot Apps money by keeping them listed as new every day.
