New Palm Pre Accessory 32

by Jennifer Chappell Fri, 10 Apr 2009 1:24 am EDT

I just read via Palm WebOS that Sprint will have a holster for the Palm Pre manufactured by AGF. The holster is currently being called "AGF Holster with shell door", but will later have a more brandable name.

According to Palm WebOS, the holster is 100% plastic, with a clear door that shows off your Pre's beauty, keeping the Pre intact and safe from scratches. The clear door was designed to open slowly, making sure that there aren't any accidents when clicking the door open.

Your Pre's face will point inwards while inside this case, and when that smoothly opening hinge drops the Pre down, you can comfortably view the Pre without having to remove it from the holster.

Palm WebOS says that an AGF contact let them know that the holster, sold by Sprint, will be around $29.99.

Head over to Palm WebOS to see more photos of the holster.

Sounds like this holster/shell combination will protect the fine glossy finish of the Pre and show it off. Well, it'll show off the back of the Pre I guess; that fingerprint magnet side. ;-)

I'm not a holster user myself. What about you? Do you like the looks of the "AGF Holster with shell door" for the Palm Pre?

I used to be a HUGE fan of slapping something about my smartphone to protect its good looks, but I've found that too many of them actually contribute to the wear and tear on the device by either providing inadequate protection or by scratching the device during removal or insertion.

I've been doing the leather, magnetically "sealed" belt clip holster thingee thingee for a couple of years, now, and I'm very happy with it. When I use it properly I have no problems. The phone is fully accessible when out of the holster (and no bulkier or uglier than it needs to be) but fully protected when in it.

Of course, if I didn't have to worry about 1) my Treos' instability or 2) the lack of an easily accessed (or any) reset button I wouldn't have had to remove the battery door to reset the device so often... thus, exposing it to potential damage.

When and wear can i get this amazing case???
