Is the NFL app working right for you? 44

It's a cool autumn Sunday night in America, and there's only one thing that can mean. Football! We're now two weeks into the 2009 NFL season and for two weeks now we’ve been getting reports that the NFL app that ships on the Sprint version of the Palm Pre is just not working correctly, if at all. While it has worked just fine for us, we’ve heard from enough of you that we have to wonder if we are somehow in a lucky minority of Pre owners (whom we consider to be a lucky minority at that).
Some have told us that things like the video feeds (both on-demand video or live streaming NFL Network) aren’t working or the app itself is just a general mess of failure. So sound off in the comments and the poll below, how’s the Pre's NFL app working for you?

absolutely too slow.. video lags even on wifi.. and i live in a major city.. dallas texas.. go cowboys! or should i say, go new cowboys stadium! best in the nation

BUT! I still wish we had an official FIFA app for soccer around the world. The app on the iPhone is amazing!
Not only have I never opened it, I went in and hacked it to remove it. Sprint adding applications most people don't want and can't delete is very irritating.
How can you complain of having too many apps? Dont blame sprint. if its not your type of app (its not mine either) dont pay any attention to it.
Because there's a limited number of apps you can have on the Pre. Having the NFL app means you can't have a different one.
How can I complain? Because
* We are not allowed to delete it
* It uses a slot when we are limited to X number of apps
* It wastes space
* It clutters the launcher
* It is an insult
If Sprint wants to bundle a *user-side* (not system-side) app that caters to only a segment of the population, then fine. But allow use to DELETE IT.
That's part of their justification for providing a 60% subsidization for the phone. ;-)

Use the tweaks secion of WebOS QUickinstall.
It's been really unreliable for me. Near as I can tell, it doesn't seem to actually use Wi-Fi. 2 out of 3 times I load the app, it can't connect to the server. I still get scores, but lots of other parts of the app seem not to work correctly.
Oh and..um. Go Broncos!
It is really slow for me as well. Even loading statistics or current games takes a long time. I don't usethe nascar app and I don't mind having the forced apps on my phone but the limited space really bug me.

Use it for the games on the radio and i love it! this is an app i would pay money for if it was not included. loving sprint.
Week 1: absolute total fail
Week 2: mostly faily
Week 3: parts not workking eight, buggy, but main funtionality there
So we'll have a good, solid app by week 17, I figure

Works perfect except on Sundays, when it is unusable , doesn't work whatsoever. Mon - Sat its good though. That doesn't help me much.
Get Nascar and NFL off my Pre!

Worked right today for the 1pm Jets game that wasn't televised here. It's the first week it's worked properly.
Live audio link never works. No video. Updates very slow. Does not matter if using wifi or G3

This app sucks! Most of the time is just hangs there with the NFL icon just spining and spining and spining and nothing happens. I mean the battery on the Pre isnt the best and to just waste it on an app the constantly hangs? No way. I just rather jump on the net to the NFL site.
Doesn't work for me, because I am on bell and don't have it :(

I can't play audio or video. Get a playback error everytime. Really stinks since I don't get Bears coverage in Nebraska
one of my favorite apps...i was a huge Sportacular lover when i was on the iPhone (I need my college football too you know) but this is great, especially the live webcasts of the games are fantastic.
I have noticed that it lags on Sundays, but everything has worked for me. I listen to Bears games on it(when I am away from my computer)as I live in ND now and they only broadcast Vikings games.
It can't be working...It shows the Steelers loosing to the Bengels!
Only played with it a little during last Sunday's game and used it to check on the game while I was on the road today. Seems to work fine for me. Takes a sec to fire up and refresh data but a decent little app. I feel for those who want a way to uninstall since I would love to ditch Nascar. I think Sprint makes too much money on those tie-ins
Had major problems connecting today. Got my team SMS alerts fine though. Even when the app works, video content is choppy and audio drops out a LOT.
When it glitches I feel like deleting the app..but when it works I love it! Lets go NINERS!
My audio wouldn't work today (even though the video did). I kept getting an error message. Very frustrating.
The video works for about 30 seconds and then the audio starts dropping out and after about 15 more seconds the audio is gone.
Gameday audio worked well.
It doesn't matter if I'm on EVDO or WiFi, it is the same.
slow load time and sometimes a whole half behind on updates. I got a half time update when one of the games was over last week. This week couldn't connect to network but somehow got scores. It reminds me of a microsoft app or something with huge glitches. Still love the app though. BTW video is a huge fail, doesn't work 98% of the time.

Not really a fan of the NFL App's video section. However, I do like their radio broadcasts. As I was driving home about 40 minutes, I connected my Pre via Bluetooth to my Pioneer stereo and had the Colts radio broadcast going through my radio. Sure it got choppy about 20-30% of the time. But I couldn't really hate on it. It's free bonus stuff.
Trying to use it now, doesn't work. can't access server. jeezzuz...i thought it would be better quality then delayed squares all over the screen. nice app tho.... yeah right... **^$@$%^&*!!!!
How about something more like .... Is the calendar app working for you? Its driving me crazy!
Works fine except on Sunday. The server bandwidth must not be able to handle the load. Some live audio links have been bad and cannot connect. I like the app, but fighting it every Sunday is getting annoying.

The fantasy player tracker does work right for me. I added some players before the season, and now I want to edit the list, but I can't find it. I added 2 new players, and I can see those two, but not the ones I added a while back. I get scoring notifications for the players I no longer have, which is kind of annoying. I would like to just get the notifications for the players on my current fantasy roster.
