NFL Sunday Ticket for webOS 53
This year, DirecTV is doing anybody who doesn't live in the same state as their favorite football team a huge favor: releasing Sunday Ticket To-Go, which lets you watch NFL games (excepting the national broadcasts) on your computer or mobile device. It's a pretty good deal at $49.95 for DirecTV subscribers. Non-subscribers will need to drop a hefty $350 for the package (available Sept. 9th), but hey, Brett Favre is sacrificing to give you the pleasure of watching him, it's only fair to give a little back.
We have a nice surprise in the App Catalog today, however. In addition to your computer, iPads, iPhones, and Android devices, NFL Sunday Ticket for webOS has appeared for your downloading pleasure. Watching the Vikings finally win it all this year will be easier than ever.
Update: @dwfrank reminds us that this app was also available last year.

"Watching the Vikings win it all this year will be easier than ever"?
If by "easier than ever", you mean, "utterly, metaphysically impossible", then I concur.
I dont think we've seen nearly enough commercial apps out there. Now if we can get banks, hotels, etc to create WebOS apps to support their services, that will start to put some live in the catalog. Kudos to dTV to make streaming video available for WebOS. Are they going to run html5? or another format? Do they have an inside track on Flash? Love to see how this works on the tech side.
this app was available last year...nothing new, it works like your YouTube app does...
Vikings?
I've never seen someone mispell Colts so badly.
What are you talking about the Colts for? The Cowboys are taking it all the way this year!
Really? Does that mean Tony OhNo retired?
maybe the colts are gonna take it in the @ss this year, old tiny homo is a choke artist
$350 dollars? Really?
Who needs to pay that much money for football scores?!?!
You're paying for streaming coverage.
Chucky pricetag if your not a dTV customer, but if you like an out of market team, may well be worth the money. Especially if you can stream it from your PC to a big screen.
First 10 suckers get a free, webOS 2.0 toaster.
Cowboys should be starting another dynasty run soon.
da app doesnt show up in my cat unless i use, neato!browser... hmmm
That is because the data refresh hasn't happened on your phone yet. It can take a couple hours for the app data refresh.
I'll get it next season. The reason? I'll have my HP Hurricane which will (hopefully) be high resolution and (hopefully) have the NFL Sunday Ticket app available for high resolution streaming.
more like cant wait to see the vikings start 0-1. not to sound mean but i hope someone makes favre retire,u know break his arm, shoulder, leg, whatever. i am so tired of his im retiring not retiring bs.
The links take me to NFL Super Fan, which is what's been in there since last season...
The Green Bay Packers feel this is the worst PC story ever written.
FYI- It's a pretty good deal at $49.95 but not for DirecTV Only subscribers but for DirecTV-Sunday Ticket subscribers. Sunday Ticket subscribers pay over $300.00 a season for the NFL subscription.
As if living in Minnesota wasn't punishment enough, now you've got Favre-Fever every August to add to your delirium.
Note: You must have DirecTV and the Sunday Ticket in order to get this package, as I understand it. Comcast and Dish subscribers aren't able to get To-Go (unless you get DirecTV subscription too)... As far as I understand it.

Pretty pissed about DirecTV's stranglehold over the NFL.
it's been that way for years what rock have you been living under? Comcast had their chance last year when DirectTV's contract ended but as usual they didn't want pony enough $ for the content....your only option is the redzone channel or get both like me ha! Cable for ondemand and service that doesn't cut out constantly and the Dish for FB
nfl sunday ticket 350 $ get the f out of here
I Guess You Guys Neva Heard Of The Jets ...... Oh And Revis Is Back :-)
Packerfan here.. Brett Favre's foot is going to fall off before week 8, and Peterson will fumble you into 4th place.
You know, it's kind of funny. An iPhone fanboy can show up here and there would be less abuse towards him than there is about people rooting for the "wrong" NFL team. :)
That's because our cell phones are like our children, but football is existence itself. Especially if you are a Dodger fan like me, living in the "Long Pain Time" between the Lakers victory and the end of another dreadful, soap opera Dodger season!
You got nothin'. I was born in the fall of '57, the same season as our wonderful Lions last won the NFL championship, as it was referred to then! An entire lifetime of football futility.
I tip my hat to you Sir TimmyB... I thought the Dolphins 38 years of suck since '72 was the tops (er, or bottoms I guess. :D)
53 years of failure doesn't make me feel so bad! :D
duplicate- sorry.
I'd be happy with Verizon making the Pre+ compatible with the NFL mobile app. Who cares about Direct TV.
Cowboys baby!!
wtf this shit was free with sunday ticket last year DTV. MAking the superfan free this year but charging more for the mobile. BS but eh wha can you do plus its all about the TITANS once we get haynesworth back.
AGAIN...does anyone not care that Verizon is not supporting the Pre+ with their NFL Mobile App? Who really cares about the Direct TV Mobile App? If you buy the NFL Ticket thru Direct TV I find it hard to believe you are going to need the mobile app...
Ummmm...anybody else realize that this app and the computer app have been out since last season. I used both then, when I was stupid enuff to use DirecTv. Just sayin'....

yup only diff is DTV pushes the broom stick in a little further with the $50 fee, last year it was free
I'd be happy with Verizon making the Pre+ compatible with the NFL mobile app. Who cares about Direct TV.
who cares about that app? Go to NFL.com and it's everything the app is plus more.....the DirectTV app lets you actually watch every game live except sunday & monday night
you can't watch the NFL Network games on NFL.com. You can with the mobile app. You have to have Direct TV and the NFL ticket package to utilize the Direct TV app.
Why couldn't they make this for the pixi as well??
I just ready they said that the pixi has streaming issues with h264 and thats why they didnt make it for the pixi.
I have missed the NFL app' that we had last season on the pre - the one that we lost to Verizon. So I was very excited and happy to see this story.
JUST INSTALLED IT only to find out:
"To use this application you must have a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription. To enjoy all the great features of the app you will also need a NFL SuperFan subscription."
JUST DELETED IT - No longer excited but very disappointed! Are there any NFL apps' that we can use that DO NOT require a subscription. If you know of any please share the news. Thanks!
of course not..... Direct TV has owned the exclusive rights to the NFL "package" for years, just last year Cable providers were able to offer the Red Zone Channel which is self explanitory and if nothing changed from last year you can also get Thursday and Saturday games on the NFL network, but I don't think their doing that again this year? As for the app it's nothing new we had it last year on the Pre except it was free with the $300 package but since the NFL is well...the NFL (most popular sport in the U.S.) they tacked on another $50 for internet and phone app feature bc ppl will pay.....why you would disappointed is beyond me, the app clearly states" DirectTv" on it and if your even a casual fan you should be well aware of the cost...as for the app we lost it was nothing more than you can get from ESPN.com or any other sports web site...another informed person, ha!
We did have a very good app that was FREE - NFL Mobile Live which was replaced with the Sprint Football Live app. I'm disappointed (as I'm sure many others are) that we lost that app. Sure anyone can go to ESPN's site to receive stats but having the option to not have to go online is even better.
I didn't overlook DIRECTV's logo and I also didn't overlook the NFL's logo on their app. I never thought that I would have to try out for a team in order to have access to the NFL app. If I'm in an area where there is no access to the web, how do I entertain your recommendation? I can't. And that's the beauty of having access to an app that also has a presence on the web.
its not just an app with scores and news. you can watch any nfl game live and have access to tons of features. Redzone channel, 30 min highlights of every game etc.
The amazing thing is the amount of money being spent on a sport whose average amount of time the ball is in play on the field is about 11 minutes!

This is great for Sunday Ticket customers, but as a VZW customer I'm furious at the lack of the NFL app that all of the other smartphones in the VZW lineup are getting for free. I was in my local store yesterday picking up a new case and saw the big shiny sign advertising the NFL app. I wanted to rip it off of the wall.
Well said!!
Here's to hoping that VZW is waiting to have it included in WebOS 2.0!!
And soon!!!
Would love to see a NHL Center Ice app for WebOS. Or, at the very least, them switch to HTML5
Go Vikes!
If we had flash, we could just stream games for free...tho minus the pretty little app. I'm tempted to buy it, but not for 1 payment of $350... They could at least make it $59.99/mo for 5 months, b/c that's basically what they charge new DirecTV subcribers the 1st 5 months when signing up for NFL Sunday Ticket. Except u get a box to watch it at home, as well as the "NFL To-Go subscription" free anyway :(
Edit: Annnd at least at one point last year, it would allow more than one person to be logged on watching,.. then the greedy b*st*rds, did an update making it only one user logged on at a time.
