Now trending on eBay - The HP TouchPad 8
If you're wondering how well the HP TouchPad is doing in terms of mass appeal, or you just want to find the new tablet device at a cheaper rate somewhere, head over to eBay, where it is getting enough activity to set it as one of the five trending products today (right up there with the Transformers 3 movie and the old-school Ocarina of Time video game). This isn't really the best gauge of how sales are doing in official retail channels, but at the very least we can see that there is some demand for the device. Keep in mind that this is eBay, though, so if you're thinking about buying your TouchPad through the auction website, you won't be able to get the $50 rebate, and it's entirely possible that you won't even get the device, either.

nice, hope Ruby brings a even better hardware in Opal.
Played with the TouchPad today for about an hour at Best Buy- had it's good points and had it's bad points. I like being able to sent a picture to one of the store printers (like magic). As a Pre minus user I was hoping it was superior to all of the other tablets out there but found it to be in need of a little more polish.
With regards to the plastic back - HATE IT. It was 100 percent covered in finger prints and it felt "sticky." How much would it have cost to have had a brushed aluminium back? Would have added greatly to the visual WOW factor that I desire for all of my purchases and hid all of the finger prints and maybe allowed your fingers to glide smoothly over the surface.
Hopefully by the time I am able to replace my Pre- with a new Pre3 they will have made some OTA improvements and possible released an updated tablet - No Tablet for me until I get a new phone. Period.
Just my point of view - your's may be different.
extremely happy with my TouchPad . . . those that aren't take it back, those that are slinging mud should just go back under a rock. Seems like the same writing style on most all the posts that have negativity too??? (ironic???)
No. I'm of that thought that complainers are the ones who get stuff done. Blogs and people all over the internet lambasted Apple for copy/paste and multitasking and they got it. So us complaining about the TouchPad are actually helping HP by giving them clear objectives to fix for next time.
Dang - I wish I could edit my reply for all of my mis-spellings - should have waited until my morning coffee finished brewing . . .:(
Glad you are happy - apparently you have low or no standards for your purchases and are easily manipulated by marketing. I on the otherhand have very high standards for my purchases and am able to make my own decisions based on my need is and quality of product and not what I am being told I need any manufacturer.
But if it works for you - enjoy!
firesale. devs are offloading there models to get money and by and ipad.
Congrats on #16 on launch day on Amazon, just behind 7 Android tabs, including something called the "Superpad" and an above-retail price iPad. I guess complete **** hardware and half-baked software actually get you somewhere: right into the FAIL column.
