Palm Developer Day NYC 2010 Schedule app If you’re headed to the webOS Developer Day [weekend] tomorrow and Saturday in New York City, we have an app for you. It comes from developer ThinMachine and is the aptly-named Palm Developer Day NYC 2010 Schedule, and it gives you exactly what it says. This all-too-appropriate app stores the schedule offline on your device (no web access necessary) and includes complete descriptions of every Dev Day event. This app is a good thing, nay, it’s vital for any Dev Day attendee. It’s available now, in the Palm web distribution feed, for free.

I see the second listing there is a class for Copyright Law for Developers. The App Catalog is riddled with apps that obviously violate copyright laws (soundboards and the like) so I'm curious as to what will be discussed in this class.

I highly doubt those devs will be at Dev Day.

Actually those are the developers that will be at developer day.

Actually, most of those apps probably do not violate copyright. In recorded media, such as a movie, a cd, etc., there is a certain amount that can be used without permission. I don't remember what the actual amounts are, but I do remember that there is a formula that relates to both the actual amount of time the clip lasts, and the percentage of the entire work. Of course, Jonathan will be able to give you the details on all that.

There may be certain instances where that is acceptable but I don't believe this is one of those instances. It's illegal profit from someone else's work, no matter how little you actually sample.

Btw, other violators are all of the images used in various apps as well. If you didn't shoot it or own the rights to it, it's illegal to use it in an app, ESPECIALLY an app you are charging money for.

Guys, I recently downloaded the Facebook app. When I sign in, it adds all of my contacts from Facebook to my contacts on the phone, is there anyway to prevent that?...Thanks!

yup just open your contacts app and go to prefrences and acounts in the top left menu tab and simply delete the account. This well not affect your FB sign in when using the app.

P.S you have to tap on the facebook account than it well load next screen from there you just tap delete account. Sorry about that! :)

I'm sorry, I gotcha, it worked just how you told me to. Thank you so much bro! Anyone know when the unlocked Pre 2 will be available again?

Wait what? When I sign in it adds my friends from Facebook as contacts in the "contacts" app, that's what I don't want to happen. When I try to delete them, it says I can't delete them because I can't delete "facebook profiles".

yes open contacts, click on top left of the screen to open the menu, go to prefrences and accounts than click on Facebook profile and than another screen should load. From there tap remove account. If you still see them go prefrences and account and tap symc now. Let me know if this works.

Hey, guys, http://forums.precentral.net/ for support. Please confine the comments to something at least tangentially related to the article topic.

Did anyone notice that the description of Hybrid Apps meeting mentions full access to the camera for developers?

Any official release date of 2.0. Someone or developers must know. As the release of their applications kind of depend on the release of 2.0?

There must have been a mention of a release before Christmas.

"Coming months." That's all we know, we're waiting on the carriers to approve the updates now.

What might the carriers have to approve in a update that would hold them up...thanks??

I am just wondering...anyone thinking about making the palm pre capable of inviting contacts to meetings? I hate to be a nag...but the gaming thing is only part of what needs to happen in Palm Land...HELP!!!!
