Sprint cancels $100 switcher discount

Less than half a day after Sprint announced that they’d be offering a $100 service credit to subscribers that switch from another carrier and buy a Pre, they’ve cancelled the promotion. That didn’t last long, did it? Here’s Sprint’s official statement on the cancellation:

“After further internal review today, the offer of a port-in service credit of $100 to new customers who buy the Palm Pre has been pulled, because it was put into the system in error.”

Sprint will still honor the discount to anybody that managed to take advantage of the offer in the six hours it was available.

Odd that Best Buy had a "mistake" and priced the Pre $100 below the correct value for about 6 hours or so. Then Sprint comes along with this deal that also lasts around 6 hours.

Yeah, this was a "mistake". Sounds more like viral marketing or something.

I got it applied earlier today, I'm glad I called right away

does anyone have a saved pdf of this offer? the sprint rep is in progress of trying to get it applied to my account but needs to get back to me on Friday *sigh*

i'm glad i emailed e-care today and got this applied retroactively to my account since i purchased on launch day! i'm glad i hit the 6 hour window!
