Paid Apps Officially a Go for UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain. France, Mexico, & Canada Wait 33
Palm has gone ahead and made it fully official on their developer blog: webOS users in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and France are now able to purchase apps from the App Catalog. Perhaps not coincidentally, those are the only places we've been able to confirm have received the webOS 1.4.1 bugfix update. Palm is encouraging developers to head back to the developer center and update their apps for more regions (us too!).
France, Mexico, and Canada are "coming soon" and we hope that webOS 1.4.1 will also be coming soon to Sprint and Verizon, because though that changelog was small, there are plenty of folks here waiting eagerly for those bugfixes (and for any extra drop of improved battery life they can get).
So, folks, what are you buying?

Well, that sucks... Im in Denmark, just installed the update... But still no paid apps for me :(
So now it is official, still no release date for Canada (it's coming soon) .... so to answer the question regarding what am I going to purchase first.....AN iPHONE !!!!

Honestly I feel bad for the countries left out. That is pretty low. The last time Palm said "coming soon" was January 7th when they said our Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta was "coming soon" to Palm pre owners. Anyways..

You should probably update your petition to say that now the app catalogue for Canada is back to "...coming soon...". Or in other words.....we don't care about Canadian Palm supporters.

Interesting thing of note for Canadian users, if you have the palm-catalog feed enabled on preware, you can get to the app catalog entries for paid apps. After getting to the page, unfortunately, you cannot actually download and buy the app though :(
Yeah, and the offical Catalog only shows 31 Apps now. If our update is "coming soon", I hope they don't leave us with an even more crippled catalog until then.
That's 31 NEW apps that are showing. For some reason, the new apps section is only showing apps from the last few days. Check under the Popular or Categories sections, or do a search, and you'll see all the old apps are still there.
Yeah, it wasn't till I say Palm's official blog note that I realized I had more options. I had to re-submit for France, Germany, Spain. Sorry folks, didn't realize Palm would let me submit English-only for your countries. Their app submission portal UI didn't say anything about the policy, and was pretty misleading. So hang on for Wobble Words -- will probably be lagging behind a day for you. If the sales are there for English-only, I'll definitely put the revenue back into translating the app for your area. :)

Downloaded the update in the UK, apps have now jumped to 720 (not all of them working though). Cant find Mobile Hotspot either.
So, does anyone in the "new world" already have the option to buy programs? Just wondering whether Palm once again decided to neglect unofficial countries (when they, imho, don't have any good reason. I can buy stuff with my credit card in other places, too).

Too bad that for us german users there's no information at all regarding the payment service provider used for apps in the app-catalog. Palm only said that an external partner will take care of the credit card data i have to enter. No word whatsoever regarding T&Cs etc. Sorry Palm, that's no service...
According to palm support it's not official until next week and no one should be able to purchase yet!

Benitez: Sir, even though the update has already been launched and now you have the possibility to purchase applications on the European region, the system still does not allow such purchases. This should be resolved by next week. Let's say, the update was launched now so all of our customers have their phones updated by next week when the system goes live

It's about bloody time. Though I'm gonna wait another week or two until the apps that I actually want are available in the app catalogue.
My patience is starting to run out with this company constantly making Canada wait.
