Palm drops Artist Series Wallpaper app for matching front with back 41

If you’ve got an Artists Series back on your Palm Pixi, chances are you got it because you liked how it looked (and maybe you liked that Touchstone capability as well). If you’re the type that wants to coordinate your entire phone (wardrobe coordination option, and not necessarily encouraged), Palm has an app for you. The free Artist Series Wallpaper app lets you slap a matching pixel version of what’s on the back of your Pixi. The app comes with one wallpaper for each of the five different Artist Series backs available. So if you feel like getting on with your design on, front and back, we suggest you get on with the downloading. Of course, there’s no reason you can’t go wacky and put one of these wallpapers on if you don’t have that Artist Series back - but that’s just crazy.

Why not have this for all devices... Why just the Pixi? I know you can only get the Artist Series backs on the Pixi, but still...
Aw, it was worth a shot. I tried it, and it definitely does not work for the Pre. Seems like maybe people would want those wallpapers, just because, even if they don't have a Pixi, but that's alright. Kudos to the Pixi for finally getting it's own stuff.
I have this enormous Pixi envy, even though I know the Pre is technically superior. This just piles on top of that. :P

It's funny to think that iPhone won't be able to use wallpapers until firmware 4.0 (or jailbreaking)...
To me, to "drop" something is to get rid of something. I read the article title and was expecting to read an article about Palm removing the app from the catalog.

Now that I got your attention and made you get off Derek's man bone for a minute, let me tell you that I do own a Palm Pre. As a matter of fact, I left ATT/iPhone 3GS and came to Sprint just because I wanted the Palm Pre.
It has been almost a year since I've had my Pre and seeing that there is no new hardware from Palm coming in the near future, I am looking forward to the EVO 4G.
What is wrong with that? Just because I have grown bored of my Pre, doesn't mean that I have to become a fanboy like some of you guys here.

Derek is more "hip" than most give him credit. He is referring to "App Drops" or when an artist talks about their new album "dropping" on the 21st. It is a newer version of 'released.' Its kinda like 15 years ago when you were confused when someone said something was "bad" but meaning good.
