Palm Eos Coming 2nd Half of 2009? 25

by Dieter Bohn Sun, 24 May 2009 6:27 pm EDT

Engadget has snagged an AT&T slide that has the Palm Eos pegged for a second half of 2009 release.  Details are pretty much what we saw before, but it is interesting that the Eos now looks to be using the Qualcomm MSM7225 processor instead of the supercharged Texas Instruments OMAP found on the Pre.  In other words, it's pretty clear that the Palm Pre is the flagship and the Eos is its small, Centro-inspired cousin.

Thanks to Mahootzki for the tip!

So December 6th huh?

with limited availability, and more to come in feb 2010

3g TALK TIME 4HRS!!!

AT&T Centro has 3Hrs talk time!

eos, pre and centro all use the same battery (1150), palm is sqeezing %33 more from the same battery for webos over palmos, this is huge!

Then again palm rates the 800w (also same battery) at 4.5hrs, but the standby time of the 800w is AWFUL its the biggest problem with the 800w.

Funny that my collegue here charges is Iphone 2 to 3 times a day in working time (8h)...

You dorks think you are so witty.

So, this thing has no wifi, then? Oh Palm.

It seems odd that for EOS, AT&T will discuss battery, talk time, price, and detailed features so far from release. For Pre we are still finding things out. Is this just AT&Ts way to tray and keep people from switching to the Pre?

Ok honestly I think this document is fake. I mean, its the exact same picture as we saw before and info this early is very rare...

But if it is real, I'm glad I'm getting the Pre. Smaller screen, lower res, worse processor, no wifi, less storage, and AT&T = FAIL

Why do people keep saying it's a web OS phone? It clearly says "A New Palm OS Experience" at the top. Whos to say Palm doesn't have a update to Palm OS and that is what is shipping with the Eos?

WebOS IS the new Palm OS.

2nd half of 09... Palm won't be in business by then

Dumbazz

Yes and no. I think WebOS has a lot of momentum already. I suspect it will do well enough to attract acquisition and someone else that wants to be in the market, will leverage WebOS development. The same way Palm took Treo to success, HP, Dell, Microsoft, somebody will likely pick them up and stuff them with resources.

Yeah, like you see the future. (That's to "Anonymous")

Looks like a fake mockup!

Yeah, I'm doubtful about this document.

Why only 4 GB and no microSD?? This is just stupid!

I completely agree. 4 GB and no microSD is ridicolous for 2009-2010.
iPhone 4GB went out of production at the end of 2007, TWO years ago!!!!! Palm, are you kidding???

Anyone else notice that the Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor allegedely being used in the Eos is apparently a dual-core processor?

Hmmm...I think dual-core in this context doesn't mean the same as a dual-core desktop CPU. From what I've googled, it seems like 1 core is for "processing" and the other is for handling communications. So never mind.

This is a fake - AT&T would never use a photoshopped picture to show a future phone - either there normally is no picture, or a rendered/actual image.

This is a F-A-K-E.

This time I must agree with a Anonymous person...

I have to agree with those who say fake.
Palm has been pretty good at keeping their new products a secret. Sure there are leaks here and there, but detailed specs this early?
Whoever did that document forgot to accept spelling for "microUSB" and "Palm" (notice the red underlines).

I could be wrong of course, but I'm going with fake.

$$$$350!!!!!!....... what is this world coming to?

FaKe but what a fake!!!!
