After the break, a gallery of photos of the Palm Pixi. Once again, apologies for the blurrycam - these were shot with my Palm Pre since I was taken by surprise by Palm's graciousness in letting us get photos and video.

No. But all the artist series backs are.

I like the designer battery plates. I hope Palm brings something like that out for the Pre, in both standard and inductive styles. (If they exist already, I haven't seen them.)
Sounds like they won't. In one of the videos posted here the Palm rep clearly says that he feels that it's important for the market sector they're going after with the Pixi, which implies it won't happen on the higher end Pre.
It's a lower end model with a lower end CPU and no Wifi. How would it be better than the Pre?*
*Unless you have had build quality issues because of the moving parts.
Yeah, the main thing that has me drawn to the Pixi over my Pre is my issue with the slider. I used to love slider phones but I'm disappointed in the build quality of mine :( I'm starting to think I may be able to live without the WiFi; I really only use it at home or at my brother's shop. As long as I can force it into roaming and pick up Verizontel's EVDO in my area, I'd probably be happy. I had a BlackBerry for over a year and didn't have Wifi on that...and that's the longest I had ever kept a phone. Half the time it takes longer for the Wifi antenna to wake up and connect than it does for the web browser to even load :P
Also, thinner than the iPhone 3Gs?! :D

And where is the micro-USB port? That little hole above the volume rocker looks too small.
EDIT: I've got to watch everything before I comment. It's low on the right side behind a panel like the Pre. Couldn't see it, though.
Is kinda in the same place that the Pre, just a bit lower and Kinda hiden hard to see.. Look at the video
It would be nice if we could get some of the artist series back covers made specifically for the Pre. I'd probably pick one up, depending on the price.
Can't help myself, but with the back cover removed, the 'interieur' looks quite Treo Pro. Same ODM (HTC)?

LOVE IT!!! I was excited to see this one come out cuase eventually my wife is gonna need a cute phone and I'm Partial to WebOS now... so looks like the Pixie wins it!!! :-D Palm that's 2 now.... YoUR on a Role... Keep it up and keep those updates coming! ???

I'm thinking the same thing.. I feel the Pre is a little too much for my wife but she has been asking about it anyway. This Pixie might be the phone that gets her away from the crackberry!
