Palm Pre to launch in Spain on October 14th 5

by Robert Werlinger Wed, 07 Oct 2009 3:51 am EDT

While we've known for awhile that Movistar would be the exclusive carrier offering the Pre, it looks like we've finally gotten a solid release date for Spain: October 14th.

According to Spanish tech blog Xatakamovil, the phone will be priced ranging from 0 to 219 euros on contract, depending on the plan selected.

There's still no official word from either Palm or Movistar on the October 14th launch date,  when it'll be available in Latin America, and if the Movistar version can be had SIM-Lock free.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Update:  It's official, Palm has announced the October 14th release date on its blog.

I REALLy hope either the spanish version or the UK version is sim-lockfree. I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if it has US 3g bands and is unlocked and useable on ATT.

I'm registered in Palm spanish site and in Movistar site in order to receive information about the pre but... nothing in my email inbox for now.

Spain is different... yesterday I was asking on Movistar Stores and no word about the phone, and most people no idea about what i was talking. Today this...

Pitsop, I have to talk with you.

Yes! Yes! Yes! It's official! Here is the press note of telefonica. Thanks to Webosmania (spanish blog about Webos).

Hello deCorvett! Lets talk, I think you have my email!

Exorbitant and abusive data/voice plans (24 months contrat, incredible and unacceptable).

I have been waiting for the Pre from january and I can't believe it.

My "solution": I hope find a sim-lockfree Pre next year and I will NEVER accept a Movistar abusive plan.
