Well, that didn’t take long. Interested in getting a Palm Pre Plus on Verizon? How about in getting it for free? Then head over to Wal-Mart Wireless for the deal you’ve been waiting for. With a new contract or a contract renewal, you can get a Verizon Pre Plus for free. At least, it’s free for now. These things have a tendency to be for a limited and undisclosed time only.

I just got the Pre Plus from Verizon directly for $80 (online deal of the day). Wonder what they will say if I call them about the Walmart price?
Better for the consumer...Pre Plus is a great phone. I'm pretty picky about my phones and there's way more Pros than Cons to owning this device.
Yay! The third party sellers are offering it for free, which usually a sign that new hardware is on the way!

Actually it can be taken as a sign of both...
...all these price drops don't look good for Palm (from a visual assumption type basis), but in actuality they are =)
+ Lower price means more chance for new customers to purchase webOS devices.
+ With each sale, it directly equals to less 1st gen webOS that's stockpiled from the numerous carriers.
However, if it gets people to try WebOS that haven't, they will have a hard time going to other platforms.

Looks like they are trying to get rid of the 1 million phones in warehouses. Once they are gone maybe we will see a Pre 2. WSJ is reporting the iPhone 4 is coming this summer. EVO and a new iPhone. Palm seriously needs a new modern phone asap.

I actually work at a Wireless Centre in a Canadian Wal-Mart, and for a working student it's a pretty sweet gig. The job itself is easy, and I get to sell Bell, Telus, Rogers, Solo, Fido, Koodo, and Virgin in both prepaid and postpaid. Too bad they recalled our Bell Pres because they weren't selling. That said, in our store pretty much no smart phone sells well, with the iphone sales doing marginally better than nothing.
work at walmart here. It's changed alot since the past. But lets call it for what it is. The garbage horde of redneck lowlife trash is what makes Walmart sucks to go into. Blame our slob society.
Yeah, I feel like it must be a huge temptation for companies to give phoens away for free when they aren't selling well. But, in the long run, I feel like it hurts the product so much more. To me, when a product is givine away for free, that implies that it has little value. I mean, basic, ugly, Samnsung and Motorolla flip phones are "free." Ah, so sad that a device that's every bit as capable (for the most part) of doing what iPhones and Droids do is free and people still don't want it! Gaaaah! Marketing!

Wow I went into a wartmart the lady sold it to someone wanting a blackberry of some sort. She did better than any verizon rep I've seen she knew alot about the phone too. I was in awe job well done.
