Palm Pre Webcast and Q&A Session Online Now 19
Thanks to Jenn at pocketables for letting us know that the Palm Pre webcast and Q&A session is now available to watch online. The video above is the 11 minute demo. Nice to see the Pre being demoed again. I liked seeing the Pre's screen turned off at the beginning of this demo. I don't remember seeing that before. Watching the Pre demo just got my drool glands worked up all over again.
Below is the Q&A session video.
12 questions were addressed in the video, which is actually 12 short videos put together in "playlist" format so you can skip around. One of the questions concerned Sprint's plans. Below are the individual plans available for the Pre:
- $99 Simply Everything
- $69 Unlimited data + 450 minutes - "Everything Data"
- $89 Unlimited Data + 900 minutes - "Everything Data"
Also discussed was the Sprint Ready program, which is like a personal trainer at no cost. A Sprint person will go through the phone's features in the store and make sure that the customer understands them before walking out with the new phone, making sure that you are comfortable with the device.
Other questions addressed (click on each link for individual video):
- Naming the Pre
- Developer's platform
- Games
- TouchStone plug
- Touchscreen interface
- Palm and Windows Mobile
- TouchStone charger
- Center button
- Sprint services
You can go back and read through Dieter's live blog of the Webinar and read many comments that were made during the event. We didn't learn much of anything new from the webcast, but we did find out that there is a limit to the number of cards you can have open at the same time. Plus we learned that the Pre's browser might just be 4 times faster than the iPhone's.

Informed, I too noticed that purple-blue tint and was wondering about it. I could be wrong, but I "think" that might be from the studio lights or that screen behind Matt. It seemed to come from one side as a reflection. Of course as much as I love that particular color/colors, I actually wouldn't mind having a Pre that has hints of purple and blue.
If you're talking about the Sprint logo on the mirrored section with the keyboard slid down, that's always been there.
One new thing that I don't think we knew until this video, is near the end of it, that's the first we've heard of the ringtone I think. :D
