Palm Spotting: Two and a Half Men 42

We’ve seen Alan Harper’s (played by John Cryer) Palm Pre before, and we’re glad to see he hasn’t jumped ship just yet to some of the more enticing devices on the market. We’re also glad to see him getting involved in ridiculous promiscuity, instead of older brother Charlie. Granted, ridiculous promiscuity is not something we actively encourage here at PreCentral, but it does make for humor of the base and low-brow variety. We may be cultured folks here, but there's an undeniable level of funny to Two and a Half Men.

palm has big presence on CBS. Just saw Lilly sporting an artist back cover Pixi on the last How I met your Mother.
Glad she upgraded she was sporting a red Centro for a long time.
But did you see the ridiculous amount of Microsoft product placement in the last How I met your mother? it was so over the top blatant it was crazy.

Bing maps shown numerous times
a scene in front of Window displaing a bunch of microsoft software and xbox 360s
Maury Povich walking out of a store with xbox 360 and that motion sensor add on or whatever it is.
They even integrated bing maps to show people moving as they traveled across the city.
Jerry O'Connell had a palm pre on the CBS show " The Defenders" on last weeks show. He got a message at the bar.

Was a Pre in Monday nights ep of Chase on NBC. they showed a close up of it setting on a table when a call was coming in. No clue why the kb was slid open while setting on a table however.

enough of the palm spotting thing, it is getting real old on a close to 2 year phone. when you have a palm pre 3 spotting, let us know, cause the palm pre 2 looks disappointing too.

I am not sure why you are up in arms about this. Seems kind of cool that a phone that has such a small mobile marketshare has as much presence as it does in Hollywood. Especially 18 months after its intial release.
I think it's because Palm does pay to get these phones on the show, and not by the show's choice....that's why.
and does that mean that iphone should get "apple sighting" or "droid sighting" or even "nokia" or "blackberry" sighting?
instead of worrying about getting your phones on some tv shows to get exposure, concentrate on inventing a great phone, not just a good phone, and introduce it at least yearly, and not once every 1 1/2 to 2 years.
agree it's a desperate cry for attention. Honestly there's many phones in pretty much every tv show. People notices a brand of phone only if they are looking for them.

is it me, or has palm given a phone to every person in hollywood.
my theory is they like to use them because they have no markings so they can use them without the audience knowing what it is.
On a TV show? No, but I have spotted a heavy metal guitarist sporting his Pre Plus... oh wait... THAT'S ME. LOL!!! The Guitar Tuner Application is my favorite, obviously!! LOL!!!
funny, I went to the american carnage tour two weeks ago & spotted 3 people shooting video on their pre's. Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth. Awesome show.
What's with these product sightings? Are they paid product placements or does palm have like a huge, unreported following in hollywood?
I think they use Palm when no one else will pay for a product placement, because no one knows what it is.
the riverstone look hides the fact that it's even a phone.
I'm sure costuming likes them because they are easy to get in and out of pockets. Fishing those squared off slates out of a pocket isn't as easy as the Pre riverstone. I'm sure they don't want an actor walking around with a big evo bulge. One of the things costuming has to do with actors is make them empty their pockets before they walk out on stage, or start filming.
sometimes it product placement. But people see what they want to see. people lookign for palm phones notice them. It's not like anyone is noticing blackberries cause everyshow has them and blackberry users aren't looking at tv shows for validation of their cell phone purchase. there's phone in every show. People at precentral just like to see the phone they bought. If you report blackberries or iphones in shows you'd have 40 posts a day probably.
When will a Pre/Pixi show up in a movie? Or has it?

You guys are ridiculous. First, the show is HILARIOUS. Second, seeing our brand of choice pop up on any screen rocks! Take the pretentious sticks out of your deriaires and lighten up.
Does P|C passively endorse ridiculous promiscuity? Now I am curious about the stance on this divisive subject and I would like to know if P|C's stance is a wide one.

I spotted a Pre on the show The Whole Truth... Makes me feel good inside when I spot one!
Unless the Palm Pre was spotted on that show being used as a bludgeoning tool for Charlie Sheen's face, then I just don't care.
Someone needs to find a way to contact that guy and get him to visit PreCentral (unless he is on here). I love that show. Its my #1!

i have a question. why does this even matter? not trying to sound rude, just trying to figure out why everyone pats each other on the back when the pre is shown on a show.
the pre has been in a ton of 24 episodes too.
Having the Pre in the show is great, but having Alan Harper as the owner certainly doesn't improve Palm's image! (I like the show, by the way)
