Picsel Smart Office for webOS smartphones cut to $4.99 21
We've been giving Picsel major props over the past few months for their Smart Office document editing suite on webOS, and for good reason - they've succeeded in building a robust and comprehensive document, spreadsheet, and presentation editor for the full line of webOS tablets and smartphones where the genre heavyweights were unable to. And you the reader have bestowed your blessings on Smart Office too, anointing it the Best webOS Productivity App of 2011.
While we're still waiting for the upcoming update for the smartphone version that will add GPU acceleration and PowerPoint Autoshapes, Picsel has seen fit to give those that haven't jumped on the document editing train a bit more in the way of incentive - they've cut five whole dollars from the price for Smart Office for smartphones, bringing it down to a manageable $4.99. Considering that Smart Office is the only document editor available for webOS smartphones, they probably could have gotten away with raising the price, but they didn't, and that's not a bad thing at all.

Still not available on my Pixi, still don't care.
Just bought the phone version yesterday getting the great price. I was more than ready to pay $10. I need it for the search feature.
yeah can we just say what's really going on here. There's barely anybody left with a palm phone so nobody is buying this app at $10 so they are lowering it to $5
Price skimming is a valid pricing strategy when faced with an inelastic demand curve.
That's because you're all traitors!
Is there an app or a way to export your contacts from your TouchPad? I tried the phone code that can be used on the Palm Pre, but it doesn't work on the Touchpad, because that program wasn't installed on the Touchpad.
Anyone know?
Just link your contacts app to Google and make sure that they're stored in Google's contacts. Synergy will do the rest. It's the easiest, most flexible way to move your contacts from one device to another.
Still can't buy anything due to georestrictions :-(
Mr. Veghte, If I could get you to direct your attention in that direction please...
Wohoo!!
Bought this 2 min ago and allready taped directly in to my google doc account. Works fast and have a nice looking interface. Would have bought it earlier if I only new it existed. Thanks Piscel for the effort and WebOS nation to get it to my attention.
Will take it for a spin and find out just how good it is.
Initial reaktion is that it rocks.
I can't be able to write in capital letters, symbols and numbers either. I've got a HP Pre 3. Does anybody know how to do this? Thanks.
Edited:OK. For writting capital letters or number you must press at the same time the capitals key and the key you want to write.
But the "Sym key" doesn't work.
I want to buy this, but I can't find it in the app catalogue.
I have a Palm Pixi Plus running WebOS 1.4.5
Is it not available for my device?
I have a Palm Pre+ (VZW) running 1.4.5.1 and I found it in the app catalog by searching on "Smartoffice". The price was $4.99. It downloaded with no problem and I've only had a chance to start it up and connect to my google docs. It did that beautifully.
I had a little difficulty though, since my password has numbers and letters. To get the numbers, I had to hold down the "grey/orange shift key" while I typed the numbers. But it worked.
Now to play with the app at large!
Pixi and Veer have different screen resolution. This is why they lack certain apps that are otherwise on all the Pre's (some not on Pre3).
Refurbished 32g TPs for $219 today on Woot.com. May buy a backup.
not available for Veer, either
Plan's most innovative smartphone continues to get no respect
the veer is junk
It is sad that there are many limitations of buying it, I will maybe directly from Picsel.
Don't complain if people are downloading pirate versions.
Picsel, please open up an electronic store with a PayPal account. :(
This is still showing as $9.99 on app catalog of touchpad?
I don't see the app in the Catalog. I found a 1.8.3 and a 1.8.5 version somewhere in the web but when I install it via Quickinstall it won't run. The first one just turns the screen red, and the second one just won't run. Any suggestions? I cannot buy it from the hp link because I don't live in the States.
Any help is highly appreciated.
