Pivotal Labs aware of Tweed media upload problems, fix on the way 10

Tweed Fail

Twitter’s been in a state of near constant flux nowadays, with changes coming one after another, and mostly for the better. One of those for-the-better changes was the addition of OAuth log-in authentication that requires a Twitter user to authorize specific applications to use their accounts, and works through Twitter instead of the client.

For Tweed, that’s posed a slight problem, as with Twitter OAuth they no longer keep the user’s password logged on the device. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem, except that as OAuth has moved towards mandatory usage, Tweed’s integration with media upload services like yFrog and TwitVid was broken in the process.

Realizing the error of their not-completely-updated ways, the folks at Pivotal Labs (the people behind Tweed) are finishing up an update to Tweed that will bring OAuth log-in to all of the app as well as fix some other bugs that were introduced with version 1.8.

Since new OAuth you also can't view convos you've had with people if you have a protected Twitter acct. it's giving me some "not authorized to view this account" message. Love Tweed regardless, hoping this can be fixed. ( I can view my convos in Bad Kitty so I'm guessing this is an app issue, not a Twitter OAuth issue)

That "Not authorized to view this account" message had always been there.

I'm happy that Pivotal is addressing the problem, just thought they wouyld have done it sooner. Their blog wasn't up when the update hit, so I didn't (and still don't) see the changelog.

I wish they would fix the bugs in Scoop as well.

+1

@verratio "not authorized to view this account" to view my own convos with my followers? it wasn't like that for me until the update.

Not to be an app troll, but as TweetMe, Twee2, and to some degree Bad Kitty are reaching feature parity with Tweed PLUS a more attractive GUI, are people still using Tweed?
I feel as though it's just the webOS veterans using it.

Are Twee or Bad Kitty as quick as Tweed? I love the GUI of TweetMe, but it loads all my tweets to slow. But with all the recent Tweed bugs, it might time to switch...if somebody can match the app's speed.

i have no experience with twee, but in my experience, bad kitty is quite a bit faster than tweed. tweed is still my favorite twitter client and it supports more image services and is just a bit more feature-filled than bad kitty. bad kitty has one of the best uis i've seen on a twitter client on any platform. it's really pretty and super well-designed.

I always loved Tweed, but stopped using it due to the media uploading issue.

I switched to Twee, but don't care for it.

Tweed has always been pretty solid, easy to use.

But since I haven't been happy with the performance of either, I'm going to download a few others and check them out.

I haven't been tweeting as much lately due to the poor performance of Tweed and Twee apps.

I was wondering why I couldn't tweet, with Tweed, a camera pic I took on my Pre last night. Now, I know. At least Pivotal is working on it.
