Pixi Overclocking, Switching switchers and more... From the Forums 17
by Robert Werlinger Wed, 07 Jul 2010 9:29 am EDT
Here's some of the latest talk in the forums:
- Forum member stu5797 wants to know if it's possible to overclock the svelte Pixi. The answer? Not just yet.
- The Virtual Keyboard: you know it, you love it, and tvc_15 wants to know just how much you use it instead of the hardware keyboard.
- If you had to pick just one of the multitude of patches that have been made available by the army of individual developers out there to include in the next webOS update, which one would you choose? HardBeatZ is keeping tally.
- With all of the new handsets coming out these days, switching fever is in full effect, though many are finding that they just can't do without the elegant UI of webOS. AJV223 switched back from the Evo, "On top of the 10 dollar fee added per month for the Evo, and then loading webpages started freezing up- that was my last straw for the Evo.", and Soulcreatr wasn't far behind.

love my pre no switching 4 me.
For Sure same here...
Well no, Robert actually your post is a bit wrong. The Pixi can not be overclocked past the 600 MHz that is runs at stock. There is an UberKernel which will allow underclocking and different governors, but nothing past 600 MHz.... Unless I missed something in that forum thread.
we need a patch that lets us pause the video recorder. So on youtube videos it looks well edited.
um I'm pretty sure it's not [yet] possible to overclock the pixi...that was my understanding...right?
You guys are crazy. Switching from the ultimate phone back to a piece of crap? heh.
I don't think anybody has called the Pre the ultimate phone. Though tech writers do feel WebOS is the ultimate O/S. But don't worry, both returned to Palm, you can be really big and forgive them.
I think the OP was actually referring to the EVO as the ultimate phone and the Pre as the piece of crap. I disagree, of course!
um... i literally glared for 10 minutes at the topic about Pixi overclocking... and there was nothing about it.

I fall in love with the web os since it was just a rumor. No way to change it.
oh... it has already been fixed. thanks for the clarification Robert.
I compared the web on my Pre to the Evo and found that my Pre loaded web pages close to the same speed as the Evo. Some web pages loaded faster on my Pre. My Pre was not overclocked at the time. I Noticed that the web on the Evo freezed on some websites, like Precentral. I didn't try Android Central.
I like the battery % as a number, "I use it ALL the time".
Overclocked my Pre and lost universal search.....was so lost. Wouldn't switch if I was given an Evo. WebOs has changed how a use a phone so much and with all my patches I have a phone that is exactly what I want, why would I change! Long live Palm!! (now give us hardware that is as good as WebOs and we will have the best phone ever created.
Lets face it I knew I loved this phone since day I bought it and realised I could talk on the phone than take a picture than send it to the person I was talking to all at the same time. As far as the vertual keyboard is concerned it is awsome patch. I am constantly using it. I have tried the app catalog versions with no good reaults(atleast compared to the patch). The only thing I wish it could do is backspace on the internet.
and in the forums. I'm offering donations for several of my patch requests. To see em, look at my posts from my precentral profile
