Pre and Pixi draw celebrity attention backstage at the Emmys 8

Ricky Gervais checks out the Pixi

We're fashionably late to mentioning this, but we figure it's fitting. See, a couple weeks ago there was some big hootenanny in Hollywood where they gave out awards for TV shows or something. I think they call it the Emmys, and for whatever reason it seems to attract a lot of attention and celebrities. Apparently Palm. The folks from Sunnyvale set up a display backstage at the Emmys this past weekend and showed off the Pre and Pixi to the various Emmy winners, nominees, and mere attendees. They chatted it up with the likes of William Shatner, Michael J. Fox, Dela Delaney, Tracy Morgan, and the ever-excitable Ricky Gervais. Even Emmys host Neil Patrick Harris and How I Met Your Mother co-stars Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders stopped on by. The general reaction from all visitors: these phones are awesome and I want one. Well get in line!

In the meantime, you can head on over to Palm’s Facebook page to check out several picture of celebrities showing off and/or playing with the Pre and the Pixi. And for the record, I want to be this phone.

(Obligatory Kanye West jokes are left as an exercise for the reader)

"Excuse me palm. But I just have to say Apple made the best phone ever. THE best phone ever. Thank you."
-Kanye West

*Sorry couldn't resist.

We don't care about iTunes or celebrities.

That makes two of us.

As for the rest of our generation, they'll probably eat this stuff up. I don't know how we became a bunch of effeminate gossiping celebrity-worshipping urban hipsters, but choosing a cell phone based on what celebrity got one in an award show gift bag is pathetic sheep mentality.

Haha! Derek likes Alyson Hannigan! -- "One time, at band camp..."

What can I say, except for YOWZA!

Kanye interrupted Patrick Swayze's funeral too.

He said Michael Jackson's funneral was better.

I dont know who Palm is going to convince by getting these actors to comment on Pre and Pixi. They would say anything that pleases. These are actors for crying out loud. Palm should be quoting knowledgable and highly opinionated people from this forum :)

because getting actors to endorse your product has never worked as a marketing strategy. ;P
