Description

The Pre Backup Utility is designed as an easy to use application who's objective is to take quick snapshot of your vital information while you're on the go. Likewise, the restoration process is equally straightforward and easy. Want to regain the snappiness and stability of your Palm Pre as when you first bought it? Are you scared to use webOS Doctor? Don't be! The most recent version of webOS doctor no longer wipes the USB partition on your Palm Pre. As such, all your backups created by Pre Backup Utility will remain in the 'ppbackup' folder located there. Once you use webOS Doctor to restore your Palm Pre to factory defaults, simply re-create all your user accounts and re-install Pre Backup utility. It will automatically detect and import your previously created backup jobs at which point you can decide on which backup job you'd like to restore. While no solution can provide 100% garauntee of the safety of your data under all circumstances. Pre Backup Utility provides you with an easily managable interface that allows you to see exactly what you have backed up and the means to take extra precaution. Unlike Palm's backup solution, you can move your backup archives from your Palm Pre to your host PC at any time and since the backup's format is supported by every major archive utility, you can extract/inspect them at your convenience. In fact, it's good practice to do so.

Hi: I am logged in and I don't see a link for a download to grab this file. I've replaced my Palm Pre and would like to restore my last backup. What I am missing here?

Was this removed? Can't download it. I had an older version. Ran backups. Had to restore my phone, now what? I have backup files but can't find the util to reinstall my apps? What's the point?

I had the same question. I download and install it over WebOS Quick Install, but doesn`t app it on the display.
Where can i find it?

same issue here. Why cant I reinstall this app?
I just cant download it. I tried from preware & throw the link. Nothing.

Yup. I just got a replacement phone and have to restore a backup -- but no app! I downloaded and tried installing with webOS Quick Install. It looked like it installed, but I couldn't find the app on my phone. Tried it three times and rebooted the phone -- still nothing. Anybody have any ideas? Is there a manual workaround?

Has anyone gotten this work?

I installed it today around 1 pm pst, ran the prog, but idk if its hanging loose or what?

It's been on the same screen for 3 hours now.

(The screen says "PLEASE WAIT...", "Backup is Running", "Please be patient while the Pre Backup Utility processes files..." with the "circle" thing just rotating...

And yes, normally I'm a very patient person, but I'm doing this at work and have 1 more hour to go... lol

I'm a Sprint Palm Pre (Legacy "minus" or what have you) user on WebOS 1.4.5.

I guess I'm just wondering if its suppose to take this long.

This is probably not the best place to post this, so if sum1 could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

1.6.7 does not work. I don't know why it was released, unless it somehow works for someone somewhere.

1.6.1 works fine, it seems, and that's what I use.
