Pre Plus, Pixi Plus show up in UK a day early 14

The Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus are set to launch in on O2 in the UK tomorrow, but Murray just let us know that his local O2 store has them out on the floor and available for sale today, along with the above in-store photo of the Pixi Plus. If you've got a hankering for some new and improved webOS action, it might be worth a quick call to your local shop to see if they've jumped the gun as well.

i finally have my palm pre plus and about time too. Thankfully O2 were clever enough to sell them a whole day early.
The whole process was a bit of a joke with O2 in the UK as none of the staff knew anything about the launch or the phone, with many stores even right now not even sure if they're getting the phone in store in time for tomorrows launch.
Many stores are simply replacing the original pre dummies with the new live pre plus' but other than that there was simply no other signs advertising the launch, which again shows O2's commitment behind this phone.
A plus i can give is the lady who served me was happy enough to sell me a pre plus and also all O2 stores are doing half price accessories, so i was able to pick up a touchstone dock for
No support whatsoever in my store either. They had no idea what the phone was or anything else. O2 just don't want to know unless it has an Apple on it.
Might o2 chuck in a free bolt-on with a pixi sale? I expect more than 100 min for a phone with half the spec of the pre plus if signing up for 2 years. Tmobile, virgin etc offer much better deals on tariffs - I was hoping the pixi would be marketed as a budget phone!

Touchstones are 17.50 on the o2 website and are supposed to be the same in store. I had to play hard-ball for them to change the price in-store but I walked out with my second TS for 17.50, sweet.
ha, o2 are a joke when it comes to palm... today i went into my local store, their pre display was its usual bomb site of zero display models and a couple of empty touchstone boxes. so i find a box for the charger and lead (spare one for work) and ask the store manager (i know this from a previous visit) if this item is included in the half price palm bits sale?

so i pull my pre out and show him the email i got from palm/o2, he goes "err well our tills have a fixed price and err i dont think it'll work" so i ask why and he says try the web site or phone up o2 directly... so i phone o2 and after the call centre person going to ask someone else she comes back and says the email i got was a fake and o2 are not doing any pre offers...
Bomb site... haha. Too true. Whenever i visit the Plymouth stores there is some knackered Pre hanging upside down off a touchstone. I checked the firmware and it was 1.1.3 or something.... so no video editing or 3d! Those Pre's look pretty sad tucked away in the corner whilst the 16 iphones stand proud in the middle of the store.
Who is behind this o2 exclusivity thing? are none of the other uk carriers interested? a few bus stop posters and watered down redubs of the creepy girl hardly seems worth doing the deal with o2. HTC seem to have a whole bunch of phones in nearly every phone shop. i get better choice buying an alcatel than a palm?! i dont get it.

I found out by chance, they didn't advertise it or anything. I do hope they bring the Pre Plus too!
As of 11:32 UK time it isn't even on their website and for those looking for an early upgrade o2 has said no.
Palm need to dump o2 and offer it over to Vodafone UK, Orange and the others.
I would be keen to have a Pre plus but with no early upgrade and the fact i have 9 months of my term left i will have to wait as i am not prepared to buy out the remaining 9 months.
It's five o'Clock pm on "Launch" day and I cant find a mention of either phone on the O2 website - even if you go there via Palm Europe you get nothing. That is unreal. simply unreal.
You cant actually buy a Pre Plus or a Pixi on Launch day online. Only in the stores; Good work O2. I've had it, and still not even a smell of a nav system.
I'm off to the n900, it's been a blast.
The most painful thing about this article... Sprint Pre was first. O2 (UK) came much later and they have already moved on to Pre Plus/Pixi Plus...
