Pre prices on Bell drop. Again. 15

Bell Mobility wants you to take a Palm Pre off their hands, and they want you to take it real bad. Why do we say that? As our maple leaf friends at MobileSyrup have noted, the Canadian carrier has dropped their pricing for the Pre considerably. You can now get a Pre for free on a two-year contract (previously you had to sign up for three years for a free Pre), or you can buy a Pre off-contract (CDMA, mind you), for just $299.95. Canada: the time is now.
Thanks to everybody that sent this in!

do canadian pres run on the same frequency as the american ones?
Thecurrent Bell Palm Pres are CDMA, the same as Verizon and Sprint, they're completely locked to the Carrier.

while Sprint Palm Pre still isnt free............
Excellent. I love it when the words price and drop are in the same sentence as "pre"

This design just so good. I would buy it just on looks, never mind price drop ;-)
It is good that they made this nice accessible keyboard, that one can operate with a single hand. Horizontal keyboards always want you to hold a phone with both hands.
I hope that it is a good way to smoke electronic cigarette with this phone. No I do not think a virtual one, but electronic one, like Gamucci Micro

It would be better if Bell offered more than just the Pre. The plus versions are for every carrier across the world, and people are forced to use the Pre here in Canada. I'm a Bell user and I don't think this is a good deal for anyone who knows Palm has better devices out there. The only thing Bell has done is shown us that data plans with voice can cost less than $50 a month.
I completely agree, I got the Pre with Bell a few weeks ago because I got tired of waiting for the Pre Plus to come out, its still a great phone though!
Lol, I knew I should have waited another few weeks to get my pre, I only wanted a 2 year contract but I got the 3 year because it was free.....fail.
So yesterday I went to a bell center and told them about my palm pre not functioning well, the microphone and the speaker werent working so she told me she was going to send an email to Palm and they are going to send a new palm pre for free and they send the broken one so it is pretty cool how palm gives you a phone for free if its broke or not working properly but this is also due to the fact that they dont want to lose more customers
Not only is the pre free on a 2yr, but Bell is also offering a 10 dollar a month discount on any smartphone plan as long as the ESN matches a Pre.
Therefore, the 50 dollar Pre smartphone plan is discounted to 40 bucks a month.

They really want this phone gone. Hopefully means the HSPA version is being released soon, as I'd hate to see future support for Palm gone in Canada.
