I'm pretty sure it's just a full circle labeled something similar to "Foul Up".
I will never forgive HP or Leo. I hope they go down in flames.
My next tablet will be running KDE Plasma Active on top pf a fully open Linux stack. Unlike webOS, no single person or company can EVER pull the plug on it.

I'm out. Had the Pre since 6-6-09. Bought the Touchpad, returned it before firesale prices (doh). iPhone comes in soon, but i'm honestly not excited or in a hurry for it. I was just playing with my friend's iPhone and I just don't get the hype.
He was going over the new iOS features and I just don't get it. I would trade so many of those glamorous iOS features just to have webOS caliber universal search. I won't miss the crappy hardware, the buggy slowdowns and the random restarts. But I will miss cards, multitasking, synergy, notifications (iPhone's new notification system pales in comparison to my almost 3 year old Pre) and I will really miss universal search.
With all that said, I'm still out. It's time too move on and get off of this downward spiral. webOS feels like I'm cheering for the Chicago Cubs (GO TIGERS).
I know I'm in the minority, but I don't care for thousands of apps. And I like the form factor of the Pre, I like the size, I like the keyboard. If I want a bigger screen I'll just use a laptop. It just sucks that Palm did not have the know how and financial power to polish webOS. As much as I like it, its slooooooooow. No matter the hardware. webOS is a slow buggy OS.
Ok, rant over, I'm ready for my cloning. Get my sheeple clothing ready. iOS here I come.

I don't blame anyone for leaving. I'll be right behind you. I won't be getting an iPhone though. Hopefully Sprint will get a nice Windows Phone 4" slab soon.

I'm in the minority too. I don't use a lot of apps. I like the form factor, and keyboard as well. A larger screen and lack of Flash was my only complaint when I got the Pre.
I checked out phones at the Sprint store today just trying to see what to replace my Pre with when it finally quits. Didn't like anything I looked at. There was on iPhone demo phone available. Guess they sold out. Maybe someone will have cloned the best features of webOS by the time my Pre quits.

Well WP7 Mango has card view so you could get the HTC Arrive which has a nice keyboard. If you want to wait Sprint will likely get a new WP7 phone soon. It is very different but in a good way. One thing I find troubling however is that it doesn't have a Pandora app yet. Maybe with Mango having limited multitasking support this will change.
If you can wait a really long time there is a good possiblity that RIM will port the QNX based OS from the playbook to some new phones, which would also give you card view similar to webOS.
I'm a Linux guy so I value Freedom quite a bit. I'm currently using a Motorola Photon but I'm hoping that sometime in the next couple years we'll have a truly Free smartphone software stack based on Linux. Android just doesn't cut it. It's "Open Source" in name only. It isn't developed in the open, Google just does a code dump when they do a release, and they didn't even do that for Honeycomb. We need a real community controlled mobile OS that NO ONE can take away from us the way that HP took away webOS.

They didn't release Honeycomb because they didn't want phone manufacturers loading it onto them before ICS. It wasn't an 'openness' issue, it was purely a move to avoid having phones ran Honeycomb. And that would have been a *nightmare* for Google.
ICS, however, *will* be available in AOSP, so I don't get what all the complaining is about. It's been set up to be this way since Honeycomb was announced, but everyone wants to complain and nobody seems to want to actually look into the facts surrounding the issue.

I meant to say there wasn't a demo iPhone in the store for me to look at. (typo error in earlier post) There was an iPhone display in the store, but I guess they sold the demo phone.
The only thing I can say, and hope somehow it gives you what you need to hear, is: I DID IT MY WAY!!!
No, I don't blame those who prefer to run when things are troubled, but I'll be danmed if HP (or sHitP as I sometimes say) would stop me from enjoying my WebOS device (whichever). If webOS goes down, man I know -I said- I KNOW there's no OS like it right now, I'll go down with it my self. Until the end, my friend. So until my Touchpad and Pre3 breaksdown or a new up to match mobile OS comes up, I got only one thing to say you all: I DID IT MMMYYY (WEBOS) WWWAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!

If webOS remains with HP then my guess is we will not see anymore tablets or phones with this OS and HP will release tablets on Windows 8 only. Let's hope there is a buyer or a company that will license it - however, I'm sure HP would **** up the licensing agreement.
However, I bet PSG stays right where it is and Bradley gets a fat bonus for the BS he has had to deal with the past year. Like a Leo hazard pay or something.

3.0.4 was finished before the Aug 18th announcement and has been in testing for about 2 months. This is it folks - the last HP webOS update you'll see. Enjoy it.

The best thing that HP can do with Webos is hand it over to or simply join forces with Microsoft and Nokia. Microsoft is done one of their main partner it would be best they join forces with them and Nokia which will definitely dominate the mobile world and will also be a win for HP. I do hope Mrs.Whitman make this move. Instead of letting the best mobile OS die. Think of it it be a win for all three companies

Microsoft already has a Mobile OS and it's pretty good. There is no way they would ever use webOS in any meaningful way. The biggest problem is that it runs on top of Linux, which Microsoft sees as public enemy #1. Any deal with Microsoft or Nokia would mean certain death for webOS. Although to be honest it's pretty dead anyway. It barely had any momentum left, we couldn't afford any more s c r e w ups and then HP canceled everything.

Same thing that happened when Meg Whitman and Ray Lane talked to CNBC. The board already paid for the analysis on splitting off PSG so they are going to let the people they paid finish the analysis. Not too much later, one of them said that HP without computers would be like HP without printers.
I think it was pretty clear that it's NOT going to happen.
It also sounded like the board really wanted to pull the plug on the Autonomy purchase, but UK law would have made it highly impractical to do so. $10 Billion to buy or $5 Billion not to buy. What a corner to paint oneself into, eh?

Let's play spin the Pre!
Why does he only have four fingers?
... HP chewed one off??
Is this the first preless PreDoodle?

just got off the line with HP Support as I bought a 4th touchpad for the family. This one has ver 3.0 on it and the update says it is up to date.
Support told me it is due the fact that ver 3.0.4 is being released on Tuesday the 18th!
That has to be a good sign for webOS.
I love my TouchPad and will never fall for the whole hype of the iPad.

Sorry.
What happened at the reported HP all hands meeting?

Doodle looks like an app they might be developing internally. The last internal webOS app they ever develop. :(
