PreDoodle - The Making of a PreDoodle 24

by Jason Harrison Fri, 22 Oct 2010 9:53 am EDT

Here's your chance to get a glimpse on how a weekly PreDoodle comic is put together. From sketching out the idea to filling it in with vibrant colors and shading, the process is shown in a speed drawing...or in a speed doodle fashion we should say.

Sprinkled with some old timer cartoon-like music, all you PreDoodle fans should get a kick out of this. It all starts out with a doodle and the rest is history!

Enjoy the show.

That was very cool. nice lesson in layers, too!

What software is this?

That is a nice walk through. Thanks for all the doodles!

dumb

"dumb" ??? Si tu puedes hacerlo igual o aun mejor... hagalo!

For me, I thought this was great!

"hazlo", porque dijiste "tu" y "puedes". :-P Cada quien tiene su opinion y todos son validos. Verdad que si?

That was actually really cool. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Thanks Jason for posting that. It was a blast to watch. I'm amazed at all the talent we have here on the forums. Just one question. How much was that sped up? Meaning I'd be interested to know how long it actually took to complete the doodle? Also I know you went and used other programs. How long did you spend in those programs and what are those other programs. After seeing what was completed in photoshop and then adding all the background' glasses, lighting from other programs it really makes you appreciate so much more all that goes into a doodle. Amazing.

That was freakin incredible! I had NO idea the level of detail you put into these!! Thanks for sharing!!!

...as to the idiot that put "dumb" as their comment -why don't you do something constructive?!?! That was completely rude.

Couldn't agree more with every point of your comment. This was so out of the ordinary and great to boot.

What software is that?
Do you use a mouse? or a digital pen/pad?

Made my morning - thanks!

I'm glad you are all enjoying this! I have been wanting to do it for awhile now. :)

The software that I use for the doodling and coloring is SketchBook Pro. The other software the I use for laying things out and composition is mainly Adobe Fireworks...but sometimes I throw in a little Photoshop if needed.

I have a Wacom Cintiq 21UX at my workplace and then a Wacom Cintiq 12wx at home. Its really nice for drawing directly on the screen. :)

I increased the speed of the video to 300% if that means anything.

Thanks again everyone!
