Haha nice showing of the "poof be gone" Palm branding. Although it saddens most of us to see it go, I do believe with it goes the "bad reputation" it had gain from it's not so well put together 1st gen devices AND horrific webOS marketing campaign. webOS is still alive and ready to make a bigger splash on the mobile scene than Palm could ever do because HP has deep pockets...but even more important: connections! Will we miss seeing Palm on our future devices? Yes, of course. I think now however even Palm welcomes this FreshSlate >;] to redeem itself.

Pretty funny. One touch would have been to make the old logo's "glow" trailing from it like a comet. Good work though

Weird.. When I open the post on the PreCentral app it says there are no comments yet. But when I post a comment, it then lists all the comments. Bug?

ooo man i sure hope so. well good thing the pre didnt need to reboot as often as my ol' BB curve did cuz that phone suuuucked at managing memory. i rebotted it daily.

Depressing. Did HP make their logo glow, or would that be to much to ask?

I'm hopeful for Palm and WebOS, but my main concern as a fan is HP absorbing them as they did Compaq (iPaq) and basically obliterating the best PDA hardware of it's day within a generation of devices. HP needs to allows the PSG some creative autonomy ao they can create great products that HP proper can build, finance, and market.

Now, if HP would deal with the hour and fifteen minute boot time, and get it down to a reasonable 30 seconds or so, then they can put David Nagle's face as the logo for all I care.

Someone needs to make a patch that shows "Halo" or "Bungie" when it boots up, lol. Hey does anyone know where I can get the patch that changes the logo? I saw someone's Pixi with it on YouTube.

First theme that puts "palm" back on the boot screen is the theme I'm installing.

It makes me feel comfortable. I have a long history with Palm devices...and NONE of them have died on me. I have a history with HP devices. ALL of them die on me in roughly a year, like clockwork. Putting HP on that bootscreen is putting a jinx on me.

I installed the beta version to my Pre Minus, it is going to be a fantastic OS, I love it, but it was beta so my palm profile wasnt working and there were one or two little problems here and there... Really I considered not reverting to 1.4.5 becuase I quickly got accustomed to stacks among other things. And yeah, it was the hp logo on startup, felt rather cool.

Hurry Up 2.1 This takes the Pre to new levels.

Anyone want´s details or that I send the beta version for them to try msg me. Don´t worry we have WebOS doctor for the Pre experimenting isnt dangerous..
