I love the idea and I bet it took a whole lot of testing to get it right!

first... The magnetic charger is brilliant ! Proprietary connectors make our money go round !
You do realize no good way to make the phone that small without proprietary connector right? Same reason the battery is not "user replaceable".
this doodle should be a picture of the veer looking lonely as people are walking past it, and it says "Why do people seem to veer away from me?" with a really sad face.
ZING
HP Veer Hmmm. Early reviews:
CNET 2.5 / 5
Engadget 6 / 10
Not good, but that was easy to predict - it's just to small. My sister is using Pre, she is happy of WebOS and form factor but already says it would be nice if it had bigger screen. I already dropped my Pre and jumped into Samsung Epic about half year ago (which was a good move, looks like waiting does not pay back). If Pre3 had 4.0 inches screen then I would be back to WebOS home as I really enjoyed WebOS, however screen is priority to me. After all, Pre3 will have just 3.6" 800x480 resolution screen so last year technology, everybody are moving to 960x540, 960x640. Just bad, bad, bad and bad moves of HP/Palm. And Rubinstein messed up his appearance at Engadget show totally, he does not know anything about his products (and there are just 3 products :D :D Anyway - I wish all the best to WebOS but this will not happen if HP/Palm will be deciding what is the best for their clients instead of asking them first.

I replaced my Pre with the Epic as well. I would love to go back to webOS if it had the hardware of the EVO or Galaxy S phones. The Pre 3 looks pretty awesome and has great internals but the screen size is just too small still. 4.0" to 4.3" is what should be the standard. Maybe HP has something up their sleeve for the end of the year. The Pre 3 should have been released before the Veer to show the true power of the OS.
The resolution on the Pre 3 though isn't bad at all. It's small so 800x480 is just fine. The 960x640 are on bigger devices so they almost need that resolution so you don't see pixels.
In regards to Rubinstein, he is a good visionary but someone needs to take his place. He would be better one step lower than he is now.
Hehe...like the PreDoodle! Keep up the good work. Like the Veer too!
Just wish the comments section of every article didn't turn into: I switched to a giant android piece and HP sucks! Kudos to HP for offering a variety of devices. Raw specs aren't everything-user experience goes a long way too. HP will have a big slab phone eventually too. If you like that style, the great thing is, you can switch and later see what HP has to offer. Nobody is making you stay with HP.
Stupid like all the rest of these things.
