"HP.......will.........make things right."
Yeah right. They aren't going to do **** for us. Where the **** is the Pre 3. I've given up hope on the "make things right" thing. I just want to move on to a Pre 3.

You know what I'm even more tired of than the fact that HP has not confirmed dates for Pre 3 and Touchpad yet? The whiny Sprint users who just won't stop with the 'make things right' groaning! Hardware get's old, acquisitions happen, business plans change...that's life, move on!
You see... one thing is "whining" for what we "want." Another thing is holding them up to their words "AFTER the acquisition." They were the ones who said we would get 2.0 on our Pre-, they were the ones who said they would "Make things right." Just holding them to their word... thats all.

If you were a Sprint user who had been promised all sorts of stuff that never happened, you would feel differently. It's a forum, so ppl tend to speak their mind, even if others have already said the same stuff again and again. Deal with it, or don't go on the forums.
Personally I have had my Pre since launch day, and I have stood by Palm, even when I have had ample opportunity to switch carriers and get a different phone. Heck, even now I could leave my contract with Sprint because of tower issues, but I DON'T because I love my Pre...and I'm holding out with faith that HP will come through. Is that whining?? If so, Tough.

If this weren't such a recurring theme I'd give them a pass but ... this is ridiculous. And it's only a bug fix we're talking about. They can't even get a bug fix out on time. Oh boy.

Sprint users have a right to be upset. If a company keeps lying to you and stringing you along it is not a good feeling. Promise after promise has been broken. Not like they flat out told the truth after the fact either. Sprint users are also the majority who helped get WebOS off the ground. Let's be honest if we didn't pick up a Pre none of this would be happening period. I understand companies have to make decisions and change plans. That is all good. But when the majority of your user base doesn't even know whats going on how do you expect to pull in new users? I guess you could promise them a bunch of stuff to string em along for two years and then not deliver, but we all know that didn't really pan out the first time too well now did it?. I for one would love to have a Pre3! The fact is I don't even know if I CAN run one on Sprint. THAT is what is frustrating. You lied in the past and now you won't talk about the future. I'm running 2.1 on my Pre and I am happy for now. NO CREDIT goes to HP for that either. Homebrew can only do so much to save this platform.
I think this is an outdated statement. I highly doubt the most webOS users are on Sprint. At one time I certainly would have agreed with you, but of all the Pre- owners I know, all have moved on to Android or elsewhere. Given the volume of comments on this site in articles and forums I think the majority of Pre- users overall have moved on.
Sorry, but when a company takes my money and then tinkles all over me, I take my money elsewhere.

I felt the same thing, what a BS release. If it's gonna be so small, and contain so few fixes, why the **** did it take them so long to release? I call BS, HP/Palm.
I never got the 1.4.5.1 update. my pre minus is still running 1.4.5
When I say "check for updates" my phone seems to think there's always updates and shows me a list of all the apps I have installed.
I'm really sick of this.
Another week gone by and no mention of if Sprint is getting the Pre 3 and WHEN?
I've had my pre minus for 2 years. This POS is falling apart. I've paid for many many apps so i'm all about supporting the developers, but comon HP You have people that have been using a pre minus for 2 years now. what are you going to do to keep them around!?
Posted by rsanchez1 on Fri, 06 May 2011 5:45 pm EDT
Let's be realistic here. The number of Sprint users using a Pre- who have had it for two years is statistically insignificant, not even a blip on their radar.
Technically, you've got a month before any consumer has had a pre for 2 years.
Anyways, as far as the phone "thinking there's always updates and showing apps" that is because the update app check for not only firmware updates, but app updates as well.
No offense Sprint people ... but, this is why I waited until I could buy a GSM version of the phone and unlock it. Admittedly, the options in the U.S. for GSM phones are pretty limited, but, elsewhere in the world, it essentially gives you the ability to put your phone on whatever network you want (and not be left hanging if your Carrier offers garbage phones).
The main price you have to pay is: no subsidy on device purchase. Personally, I like the freedom to do what I want.
Promises, delivery timelines & all that aside, I think a decent chunk of the angst here comes from three big things:
-1. The North American Cellphone industry stinks compared to Europe. FYI: not a holier-than-thou opinion: I live in Canada that has arguably the *worst* cellphone plans (ie: pay more / get less) available.
-2. Lack of easy access to get Unlocked phones if you want. Sure, you can buy a Pre2 unlocked IF you have an American address AND you activate it in the US first AND .... (it's not simple).
- 3. Lack of hardware availability anywhere (carriers or otherwise).
Whether Sprint carries new WebOS phones or not is pretty much a side-effect of phones not being available yet. What would be handy (but is impossible due to CDMA restrictions) would be if the Veer was sold unlocked by HP, shipped to a Sprint user's door, that user could take out their Sprint SIM card (that doesn't exist, I know) and / ta-da: Sprint users with new HW.
In my humble opinion, HP needs to push to get their phones on as many carriers as possible AND easily accessible in an unlocked / easily-activated mode for anyone in the world on other carriers.

I agree with the Sprint users, enough is enough already. Sprint Pre users have been getting crapped on for a very long time. And the most disappointing thing is that there has been no viable hints or clues whatsoever that Sprint will be getting the Pre 3. Thus far, everything is pointing at Verizon getting the Pre 3 first.
My Sprint sources are though, still telling me that HPalm is working with Sprint on a Wimax, 4" slab device. To be released sometime around late summer or early fall. I know, no pictures, no names, blah blah, ...save it.

No keyboard no care.
Also I'm not waiting until August or latter. I came from net10 to Sprint for the Pre and I will leave Sprint for the Pre 3. If they don't have the Pre 3 they will lose me as a customer, simple as that.
So HP announces phones with a 3+ month release window, but you have "sources" that say a phone that is unannounced (while announced hardware is still not released) will be released in the same time frame.... BS

Bring on the flames....
Who's calling who whiny?
I gave you a +1. Might not help much in the scheme of things, but you are quite right, I think.
Yep, won't help :-/

So, what's worse: the whining or the whiners whining about the other whiners?
Excellent, one of your best ones!!! :D

Still 2 sprint pre- in my house...

Since the Touchpad is coming out before the Pre3, I wonder when the Pre3 will be released. mid-late summer?

Pre-doodle lol Genious.*****
Shouldn't that Pre- be covering the camera, the mic, and the earpiece (eyes, ears, mouth)?
Nice 'toon!

HP is not that smart to figure that out, so it will not happen
