Press-and-hold Phone Numbers or Email Address 19
by Adam Marks Wed, 11 Aug 2010 12:24 pm EDT
While webOS allows you to tap on an email address to launch a new email, or to tap on a phone number to call it, you can also press-and-hold on those for additional options. If you press-and-hold on a phone number, you get a menu option to "Call", "Text" or "Add to Contacts", and if you press-and-hold on an email address, you get a menu option to "Send Email" or "Add to Contacts". Note that if the phone number or email is already in your contact list, the "Add to Contacts" option will not appear

hmm - did not know this - good tip
Tap & hold need to be more frequently/widely implemented throughout the OS, otherwise it becomes such a rare thing that even seasoned users forget that it is an option
Agreed - waited in the rain June 6th first one at Best Buy - had no idea this worked.
Can't believe I didn't know this one. Nice!
Awsome
I had no idea... That's pretty nice!
Nice
Holding the orange/silver button and tapping on the number/email does the same thing. I recently stumbled upon this feature because I was trying to send a text to a number that someone provided me via email. It took me a few WebOS-intuitive guesses to figure it out. I didn't know the tap and hold alternative method so great tip!
Wow somthing advanced can actually be done without opening the slider...what a concept!

Another one I didn't know--Thanks and keep 'em comin'!
didnt know this one...nice..would usually tap on number to launch the dialer then save to contacts...sweet...
I didn't know that either...was afraid to touch and call accidentally. I don't know if there's an end to the tips, but you guys should make an app out of them. There's some things that palm doesn't tell you outright
btw, palm should have done this with links too, that's where I've actually tried this
Wow. Day 1 Pre user that learned something new today.
Tips: I love them. ;-)
Fantastic!
This feature hasn't been there all along, it was just added in 1.4.
oh, and now I'll be in the forums, requesting a patch to add " copy" to that list

wow I didn't even trip across this one feature.. So this is new to me. Thanks... Now I can do some work even faster seeing as I get numbers and emails either text to me or emailed to me from someone else.
