Quick App: Selling webOS; Update: pulled 17

HP has recently released a new application for what looks like the purpose of helping their retails sales teams (from renewed carrier relationships) close the sale on the latest HP smartphones and to show off the best features of webOS to whatever interested person might be around. The purpose is simple: Say your friend wants to know something about multitasking or Card Stacks: Just launch the app, flick up or down to find the option that says "True Multitasking with stacks" and tap it to launch a video demonstrating that webOS feature.
At least, that's the video it would be showing, but instead it goes to instructions on how to use a Touchstone charging dock, not card stacks. Unfortunately, that is not the only problem that we noticed when giving a quick glance over (they also called the 3G Veer device the 'Veer 4G'), the app is also pretty bare bones to be considered a tool for "selling webOS". Then again, this could be for merely training salespeople on how webOS works. How better to demonstrate on the phone where they can then try it out?
But hey, it's HP, and we can't really tell why they release these things sometime (we just deliver the message). Maybe you can find some use for it, or maybe you'd just like to see the videos that they created to put in the app. Either way, go ahead and check it out for yourself. Can't say we didn't warn you.
Update: no surprise, but it looks like the app has been pulled.

Ok.. that's just embarassing!
:(
Yesterday, when first released, it played all the videos. After the first update it included said 4G Veer video and hasn't worked since?
I bet 100 € that "Veer 4G" will be the official name for the Veer at AT&T.
HSPA+ (sported in the tiny Veer) and LTE = Both NON-4G but BOTH marketed as 4G
Tried to install yesterday, but said that my version (1.4.5) was not supported.
If this is the game HP is bringing, even through a selling tool app, it's pretty weak.
Look at all the great companies, and the cohesiveness through EVERYTHING they do speaks volumes about how much they care about what they put out there.
This doesn't reflect the attitude of a company who is winning.
Does it have a "in the coming weeks/months" tab to teach their employees how to deceive their customers?
my OS is not supported! That'll help promote webos. :(
Only supported on devices that you can't even get your hands on.
I can play it on my Pre Plus :-P
The Veer has HSPA+ and as it's (most probably) going to get released at AT&T it of course will be marketed as "4G"
Like any other HSPA+ or LTE phone. That technically neither of these are 4G is written on another page. But then NO phone could actually call itself to have "4G".
I already sold my wife on a Pre which she now hates. No more WebOS evangelism from me! I wouldn't give my worse enemy a WebOS device anymore. Who cares that it multitasks if there too few apps worth multitasking and with HP treating it's customers as expendable casualties of progress. Perhaps I should write an app saying how bad HP sucks... Heck HP already has... its called WebOS 1.4.5.
I believe there is already an app for that. It is featured in this article. ;)
Why do you think that the App Catalog actually has a "Beta Feed"?
Gee, and I was this close to talking my wife into a Pre Plus for the MHS. She might be better off with a smartphone with a more polished OS like the iPhone.
Looks like an APP for salepeople to show off what could be in an app for a prospective business. . . and showoff the TouchPad at the same time~
I might be the only one but I hate TouchStone charging.

Cannot find this in the App Catalog today (April 1st). Maybe got pulled?
It wasn't pulled o.o I just snagged the app from the catalog. I had to get the link from you guys, but it's still there.
