Quick App: Super Device Countdown 15

We can’t say definitively what will be announced on February 9th, 2011, but we can tell you that it’s 27 days away. That info comes courtesy of the newly-released free app Super Device Countdown, from developer Rob Merrell. At first launch, it seems as straightforward as any countdown app could be: a title and a countdown of days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

But then you notice the “Tap & Tilt” line at the bottom of the screen. You tap the screen and a little HP logo appears and falls to the bottom. You tap again and another appears, dropping from where you tapped. You tap several more times, the HP balls piling up, bouncing off each other and rolling to the corners. And then you remember that Rob Merrell is also the developer behind the physics-based destruction game Plasma Cannon. You smile, and tap the screen until it fills with little HP logos, toss the card away, and start it all over again.
