Dear QVC,

I know you know we had a tendency to mock you and your ten easy payments ways, but the truth is, you’re pretty proactive when it comes to customer care, and we don’t just appreciate that – we respect that. You might not be our first choice when it comes to shopping (there’s still some stigma to overcome, I guess), but rest assured, we aren’t looking at you with skeptical eyes anymore.

Love,
The webOS community

Dear Valued Customer:

We're writing with good news about your order for item E167734, the HP TouchPad 32GB Wi-Fi Touchstone Dock & Case, which you purchased for $659.00.  Due to recent changes in market pricing, QVC has decided to reduce the price to $199.95, and we're passing the savings on to you!  We also hope you're enjoying the value and convenience of the special bundle that was part of your TouchPad purchase from QVC, which included the HP Touchstone wireless charging dock and HP case.

In August, we issued a refund in the amount of $110.00 to your original method of payment for every HP Touchpad you purchased to reflect a new purchase price of $549.  To keep pace with the market, we're ensuring that you will not pay more than our new QVC price of $199.95 by refunding the sales tax amount charged to the original method of payment used on the order and canceling any subsequent Easy Pay installments minus the amount still due us after the price adjustment. If you've already paid more than $199.95 in Easy Pay installments, we're issuing a refund for the difference to the original payment method used on your order.

For your convenience, you can always view the status of all your orders and returns by visiting QVC.com.  We're also available to assist you in Customer Service at 800.367.9444 between 7 am and 1am Eastern Time, seven days a week.

We hope you continue to enjoy your HP TouchPad and look forward to serving you again soon!

Best Regards,
The QVC Customer Care Team

Thanks to Nemo331, VWDasher, and Shonda for the tips!

Hyped right now, been waiting for this news.

Wow, wish Amazon would do this - Amazon has totally stuck to their return/refund policy which gives an 8/12 deadline for the match. Customers who bought previously have to either do a return for full/original purchase price refund or eat the difference.

If you bought with American Express, you can return it within 90 days, for any reason. Call American Express' customer service and they should be able to help you out.

If you didn't, other credit card companies may have similar policies.

Hi,
I'm glad to say this is totally wrong, i pre-ordered a touchpad 32GB on the 20 june and recieved it on the 12 july from Amazon, i rang up 2 weeks ago to requested my $450.00 back on the 32GB version, and the first person i talked to said it had to be after the 8/12 deadline, he would not budge, i kept on ringing back and asked to talkt to their complaints department, i told them this full refund only policy was **** and that HP themselves had orthorised the refund policy from july 1st. I finally got through to the compaints/higher up superviser and then they refunded my monies, i have checked with my bank and i have been refunded. So all you have to do is keep at them, they will try to only return it for a full refund. But if you complain and go higher then the sales desk you will get your difference in monies and keep the HP Touchpad.

Great news and good deal on the accessories, too. Add $50 worth of apps and $50 rebate for early Pre adapters and the costs is $100!

This is how it worked out for me, buying from HP SMB directly:
$599 (32GB TouchPad)
- $50 rebate
- $50 app credit
- $450 refund from HP
----
= $49 net cost of the tablet.

The QVC deal included the Charging Dock and Case for $649. Refunds brought the price of the TouchPad, Dock and Case to $199 less rebate and app credit = $99. So a TouchPad at $49 and the accessories for $50. Now, if I could only update my first day Sprint Pre.......Pre3 someday?

order complete!

i think they sold out already

In a damn hour!

It's about friggin time I was able to get one! Now my lonely Sprint Pre will have a webOS brother.

Well - That didn't last long! All gone now @ QVC.

Got my wife one.. Now have a 2 TP household, and got my refund on original QVC order so batting 100%.....
so 199 each Minus -$50 Apps, Minus -$50 Rebate yes.. A $100 TP x 2...What a deal

thank you QVC and HP!

+1 on that.

Argghh! Missed it again.

:D

Wow QVC funding the price difference but not Wal-Mart? Wal-Mart, what gives... I've seen where some have been lucky and got local WalMart refunds. Not wher I bought mine, tried several times... No avail. Don't get me wrong I love my TP but for HP to back out on it and not send official notices to all retail partners is sad.

With this, the $50 rebate, and $50 app credit, I paid $99 for all 3, plus $25 for the keyboard from Staples. Sweeeeeeeeeet.

QVC orders aren't suppose to get the $50 credit for apps. I never got mine but I have seen other people reporting that they did. Anyone here buy from QVC & get the $50 app credit too?

QVC told me they didn't have anything to do with the apps. They told me it was HP . HP told me it was QVC. Needless to say I did not get the app credit. So that's the way that ball bounced. I Hope the best for you people who did buy at QVC.
