Roundup: Staff Picks - Derek Kessler 3

Continuing to look at our Staff Picks of our Tips of the Day, we get to take a look at what editor Derek Kessler fancies are his favorite tips. Once again we get a pretty good mix of tips, with a heavy emphasis of shortcuts or quick-actions to make your webOS experience the smoothest and more efficient it can be.
- Using (and ignoring) auto-correction when typing
- webOS has a built-in auto-correct dictionary that will fix certain typos or convert some shortcuts as you type. If you don't like that edit, just press the backspace key and it will undo it. Note that this functionality will be totally overhauled in webOS 2.0 with the ability for a user to edit that dictionary
- Accessing a roll-over dropdown menu in the browser
- Many websites are not built with a mobile browser in mind, often using dropdown menus that are only accessible by rolling your mouse cursor over a certain area of the screen. This tip examines a few ways to access those menus with the webOS browser
- Option + tap in the browser
- Holding down the Option Key (Orange/Silver) key and tapping on any link or picture in the browser provides you with a pop-up menu that allows you to share the link/picture, open up a new browser card to that link, or even download the image to your phone.
- Redial the last phone number
- Need to redial the last number you just called. Here’s how!
- Why you should banish your phone icon from the quick launch bar
- The Phone app is defaulted as one of your only 4 apps you can put on you Quick Launch bar, but it should also be the first you move off of it. Between Universal Search, calling a contact from within a Messaging conversation, and a slew of other options to call a contact, there should rarely need to actually launch the phone app.
- Backing up your application data/settings with Save/Restore (Homebrew)
- All you ever needed to know about backing up your phone, app and game settings/data using WebOS Internals' Save/Restore App.

Is there a way to redial without opening the phone app? I agree that that its usefulness on the quicklaunch bar is reduced by other webos call options; however I kept mine there for quick access to redial since I don't always leave the phone app open. Just my ¢0.02.
I just want the option to turn autocorrect COMPLETELY OFF. I don't need some dumbass computer with absolutely no sense of subtlety or style futzing with my typing all the time. I have to correct what autocorrect does to my text more often than autocorrect catches my mistakes.
brendilon - wait for webOS 2.0 ... The autocorrect functionality is absolutely amazing at it's customization and useabilty!
