Rovio and Palm sort issues, Angry Birds update on the way 45

Angry Birds

Hang tight, bird flingers, an update is on the way. Last week we noted that Rovio said they had submitted an update to Palm for smash hit (pun totally intended) Angry Birds, but an issue with the Pre apparently prevented the app from getting pushed to the masses. Well, dear bird-toss catapult operator, you may soon be avenging the theft of your eggs on even more levels, as Rovio announced on Twitter that they and Palm have fixed what was wrong and the update is ready to go for both the Pre and Pixi. Just as soon as Palm approves it. We can tell you’re sitting on pins and needles here.

I retweeted this a hour ago... I was gonna send this in but I thought mehhh whats the point! lol

Finally. If they both worked out the issue with the Pre, then doesn't that mean Palm already approved it? What's the hold up?

" Just as soon as Palm approves it."

"...in the coming months."

"...first half of 2009."

"in the first half of 2011"

"in the next 12-18 months."

"In the coming never."

Then shouldn't we have had it... before (or very shortly thereafter) the Pre was even released ???

"soon" but "not soon"

You never want the same people who worked on it to be the ones reviewing/approving it. That's rule number one of Quality Control. You always want a new set of eyes looking it over.

BIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRDS! :) {Jonathan}

Have no fear, Palm will approve it "in the coming months". :P

lol

It will come out with WebOS 2.0

As appreciative as I am for new levels to the standard game, I

Well, RovioMobile *did* respond to my most recent tweet about *that* particular point with "you never know..." So, I guess you never do! :) {Jonathan}

Perhaps if we changed the name to "Slightly Put Out Birds" we wouldn't be so quick to throw a tantrum when the webOS version of game updates are delayed....

WHO AM I KIDDING!

Oh, and Seasons would be nice...was that calm?

Slightly Put Out Birds? I love it!!!!

LOL! for "Slightly Put Out Birds"

hey Derek thought u didnt like this game? this should b of little concern to u ;)

Pssst...dutchmasta...don't make Derek 'ANGRY'...you wouldn't like him when he's angry! He turns big and green...and kind of fat and round...and he snickers a lot at you...

Thats great! Never in a million years would I have thought to mash together the Hulk w/ some egg stealing pigs!

he might like it more if we replaced the pigs with pandas and the birds with unicorns.. Lol

Derek hates how the game is like crack. But he could very easily spend hours playing it.

Angry Birds has caused Derek to turn into Bob Dole.

Hopefully it doesn't take as long to put out as flash has. Since it was sent to palm what 6 months ago.

I must kill new pig levels now! Gimme! Gimme!

A friend of mine here at work just ordered 2 plush toys... I am going to get Speedy from him!

hip hip

The girlfriend has angry birds seasons on her samsung moment. Been rubbing it in my face since she got it. I was able to rub it in that I got the birds first. Still though, no ads on ours. Seasons would be very nice.

Although there are ads she didn't have to pay for it either...lol.

+1 for Seasons...

will it be approved in the coming months?

Only thing I can say to this news is WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Don

For some reason that screen shot above with Angry Birds on a Pre 2 looks so much better than when I'm playing it on my Pre minus.

Well of course there's a delay. Don't git yer knickers in a twist, webOsers! The new Birds will be arriving right along with Adobe Flash, WebOS 2, and HP hardware... It's a droolfest...but the planets must all align just right for the next Rovio version to run optimally and reveal exploding Eagles in 3D with little stinky mushroom clouds that smell like mushrooms. ... :P

lol H-Cubed "in the coming months."

I vote "in the coming months" for phrase of the year.

no she didn't have to pay, but....she can only play one level at a time...she's waitin on level three for another 7 hours before it's available..level 25 will be available in 25 days. An this is this christmas version.

SQUAWK!

1. @Rovio & HPalm: Bring on the update for Angry Birds on WebOS including new levels already released for Ilemmings and Droids.

2. @Rovio: Bring on Angry Birds Seasons for WebOS, too.

3. @Rovio: How about an editor for Angry Birds on WebOS so that we would be able to create our own levels for Angry Birds?

4. @all: I may be addicted to Angry Birds ...

5. @HPalm: Never ever use the phrase "in the coming months" again!

to point numver 5....amen! It's just too much for most!

In the words of Tom Petty....waiting is the hardest part.
