Save a photo from a text message / MMS 12

by Adam Marks Mon, 02 Aug 2010 12:45 pm EDT

Even though a photo that you receive via text message (MMS) gets embedded within the conversation, you are able to easily save that picture to your device. To copy that photo to your device, click on the thumbnail of the pic within the text message and a pop-up will appear. Click "View" to view the full size picture, and then click "Copy to Photos". That photo will now appear in the "Messaging" folder in the Photos app or when in USB mode.

What about saving a video that's received in a mms?

That will be a forthcoming tip! :-)

Hopefully this forthcoming comment is hinting towards tomorrow. This has been driving me crazy. If there is a way, then it must be via a patch... (I haven't been able to download videos sent from the those with iphones since day one)

don't think it's possible?

Can I please have a link or something to that picture, I must have it. hahaha.

I know this is completely off axis, but where is our new hardware? Sprint's 4g service is about to hit my area and more than anything else that I would want on my Pre is to be able to pull 4g speeds. I am strongly considering jumping ship. One of the MAJOR reasons Palm lost it's appeal and many loyal customers to the Iphone,is that they were just too slow to get new hardware up and running! It's really beginning to feel like Palm/HP are just taking us on a ride. The other thing is, I'm not hearing or reading a lot of bad press about the EVO and Sprint stores can't keep them in stock. I'm thinking the EVO is a hot device despite not having WEBOS! I love WEBOS, but maybe Android is a worthy OS competitor???? Palm faithful please tell me something to keep me loyal!! I'm getting very antsy!

The "Palm" Initiative !!!! hehehe Awesome Thanks guys :)

Yeah I don't think that's possible to save videos from MMS must... be a patch for that! lol. I don't understand why palm left that out. Makes no sense.

Hey nice point about the Patch does anyone know if there is one and the same for Audio. I get pic and sound files from my kids and would like to be able to save the sound also. any tips or tricks are welcomed info. thanks

I didn't know you could receive audio by text, but if you mean by email, you could simply save the email.

you know, this never worked for me. I always try doing this, but every time I click on "Copy to Photos", I never find it there. If anyone else has a fix for this, please PM me.

Thanks!
