We're proud to say that The iPhone Blog is now TiPb: your #1 iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad blog!
A little SPE network news before we get to our weekly list o'links. We've been calling TiPb 'TiPb' instead of 'The iPhone Blog' for so long now, we figured we may as well make it official. Add in that the iPhone platform now encompasses the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the newly announced iPad and renaming the site pretty much became a foregone conclusion. Same great content, new shorter URL to type in!

iPad looks cool & the specs are decent. Would I purchase one? Nope lol. It's not as "revolutionary" as they claimed...and still claim it to be. A webOS type device would be sweeter especially w/ the multi-tasking ability AND flash/html5 compatible...but Palm needs to just focus on their mobile devices...at least for now ;)
On an irrelavent topic...has anyone noticed how QUIET it's been in the App Catelog, PreCentral, or anything Palm/webOS the past day or so? I hope they're just getting ready for the BIG STEP =)

...I don't think you've seen one in person as I have - they look nice. I don't agree with Apple trying to make their own processor dubbed, A4...but the specs of it's ability is decent. I'm not an Apple fan at all but I give them some credit for it's technological advances.

I've been wondering when they are going to switch to WebOScentral for awhile. Maybe even PalmCentral for those Treo fans.
Completely irrelevant... Did anyone else notice the Palm Pre in the KGB Super Bowl commercial? I think PC should put a vidcap of it up here.
Saw it, and shouted out to everyone at the party. "Palm Pre everyone, look Palm Pre!" not my best moment.

Yeap! I noticed it too!... too bad the guy with the Pre had to be the one to get squished by the Sumo...
I dunno, about you but the commercial made it seem like the Pre wasn't as capable as the other guy's phone (whatever it was)... but still cool to see it on a random commercial! =D
The iPad/od/hone are, like all Apple products, all style and no content, form without function, pigs with lipstick. The reason we come to this forum, and why we own WebOS products, is that we prefer technical superiority over fashion, and we are not swayed by trendy gimmicks like your effete, faux-intellectual Apple heads. So we appreciate all the work you do, but you can keep your TiPb to yourself. How d'ya like them apples?

Come on guys, it's just an announcement from smartphone experts. I'm sure that if precentral would be changed to Palmcentral or w/e it would appear in every other SE page too.
Although that's true, it's a bit annoying to see posts that are about nothing but an apple fan site on the number one Web OS fan site.
Anyone who has any interest in TiPb would have no trouble finding out about the changes to that site (like, the next time they visit it) without this cross-post.

I agree 100% especially when we are all waiting at the edge of our seats for the drop of 1.4 and all the goodies that's to come along and not mention ...but I will ..... flash10.1 . but instead of giving us some sort of teaser or update news we get this B.S.!!! I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who thinks that precentral should keep mac. news off this website. my boss and his wife think their macs are so wonderfully superior computers and they have had their hard drives crash and other problems while my HP desktop still Just keeps on running....
Is it just me that thinks that on the smartphone experts list of directory channels that precentral should be on the top, instead of that bullshit android central, oh wait second look i guess it aint so bad cause the new and inproved "tipb" is it the bottom next to lame wm experts
is this serious? they can't seriously be changing their name cause of the ipad. Someone's drinking the ipad koolaid. And i've got nothing against apple. at least name it like the apple blog. or the cult of jobs blog or something. "tipb?" Someone went to the Palm Pre lame girl school of marketing.
Mr.D33 posted that he thought the Pre in the KGB ad was a Pre Plus. It wasn't. I rolled my TiVo back several times, and the button below the screen was clearly visible in one scene. It was a plain ol' Pre.
what is this?!!! They should put this on the Iphone webside. Not here!. This is precentral
Hopefully within the next week, Precentral will have something major to talk about.
