Set Wallpaper from the Photos app [webOS 3.0.2+] 6

by Adam Marks Wed, 16 Nov 2011 10:20 am EST

This tip is only for devices running webOS 3.0.2 and higher

In the original release of webOS 3.0.0 for the TouchPad you were only able to set your wallpaper background from within the Screen & Lock app, unlike webOS phones where you could set the wallpaper while viewing a picture directly in the Photos app. Luckily, the webOS 3.0.2 update took care of that oversight. All you now need to do is open up any photo that is stored either directly on the device or from a synergy account (e.g. Facebook), press the icon in the bottom right and select "Set As Wallpaper". Note that all of the zooming/cropping effects based on the resolution are the same as before.

I'm actually old enough to know what weekday cartoon this wallpaper is mimicking.

Long before there where Mighty Morphin Power Rangers there was Voltron. Ahhh, yes... Voltron.

That image is fantastic in so many ways! Who created it?

My 12 year old Grand Daughter found this tip in about 30 seconds after she took a photo of herself with the camera app...lol

lol, slider out, it can't even see over a building. optimus prime would make it his beeotch.

Apparently Veertron did not defend the HP webOS universe as well as intended. I blame it on the fat guy in the Yellow Veer. That guy was always annoying.

I want that wallpaper!
