Sprint Advocate Training to Begin This Week? 24
Following all these Pre rumors has brought us all up to date on some of Sprint's internal policies and procedures that otherwise would have us, well, yawning. To wit: the Sprint Store Advocate. These fine people are in charge of evangelizing, selling, and being an overall expert for a given device.
We received a tip over the weekend that advocate training would finally begin this week and Coal over at Sprint Gurus [via PreThinking] seems to back that up pretty well - even going to far as to post the script for the 'circle of trust' speech that will go along with their confidentiality agreement:
As I’m sure you are already aware, the details of the Pre phone have been a closely guarded secret, and we’re proud of that. We’re excited to have reached a point where we can now share with you the details you need to know to support the product. However, this does not mean that our level of security has changed. In fact, we’re asking you to join the ranks of people who will keep the secret.
It's also possible that this training won't be limited to store advocates (as our source suggested), but either way it's starting to feel like we're in the home stretch of this Pre-Wait-a-thon.

Do they go through all this BS with *every* phone they offer? With all the devices available, it seems like a lot of training time and details. And from conversations with Level One folks over the years, I don't think there's much retention anyway...
I don't know if they do or don't, but if they don't I think it's a nice change since people complain about Sprint's CS. Maybe this is part of the "better sprint" thing they're doing?
I love arbitrary numbers from anonymous posters. Are you sure it's not 99.9999999% sales pitch? lol
That's better. Now I believe you.
Yes. It is being manufactured by the same company that provided the "Jesus Glow" for the iPhone.
Hey Taharka,
I got your reply on the forum. Thanks for the advice. When I first shot you a PM, I got a message saying I couldn't send any PMs yet because I have posted less than 15 posts on the forum. But your PM came through. I don't know if you got my second one - I said thanks ;-).
No, I never got your reply. No worries. You're welcome. I hope what I said helped in some way.
Wow! I live in Kerrville too!
Yeah, I wouldn't bother hearing anything that our three Sprint stores have to say about the Pre. They know nothing. They probably will not be receiving the Pre until well after launch. I've decided to get mine through telesales... Because who knows how San Antonio is going to look the day of the Pre. I don't want to sit in front of a corporate store the morning before launch just to find out that they didn't receive any.
