Sprint offers 30 day money-back guarantee 12

by Dieter Bohn Wed, 31 Mar 2010 1:53 pm EDT

Sprint has announced the "Sprint Free Guarantee," which amounts to a beefed-up 30 day trial program for people looking to switch to Sprint. Essentially, they're removing as many risks as possible by letting new Sprint users buy a phone and get on their network and if you're unhappy, you get the following back:

  • The cost of the plan
  • Taxes and fees
  • Activation fee
  • Restocking fee waived
  • Cost of the device
  • Early Termination Fee waived

They're being a bit more generous than the other big three carriers in the US. As Keith said over at Android Central, it could be read as an attempt to get users to come back before they launch their EVO 4G, but here in Pre land it does make it a little safer for webOS lovers to suggest at least trying the Pre to their friends.

1st. Wow. My 1st, 1st

You gotta admit that is pretty awesome. Nobody is doing anything even comparable. I hope Sprint can turn things around, as long as they keep focusing on the customer.

They have been making great strides. There is just a long memory of when customer service sucked. Hopefully that can be overcome soon.

and yet you said nothing about the article what a waste of space. That's pretty good idea it can be a big risk changing to a new carrier especially if you don't know what kind of coverage you will be getting

That's certainly a whole lot better than when I got my Pre (I'm in Canada). The paperwork stated that I could return it "within 30 days, or 30 minutes airtime/voice usage". So basically, once I'd talked for more than 30 minutes (which happened by day 2 I believe) I was stuck with it. Luckily I knew I wanted the Pre and the Pre alone, but for other people, I guarantee that turned off more than a few.

Wait, so would you be able to keep the phone you purchased and get the money back from them?

No dude, you return the phone to them, they return your money to you.

I hope this spreads sprints coverage! & I can always have a fully lit ev & bars all the time! {{-_-}}

so I get get the EVO, try it, and then return it.. I wonder if it'll work if I already have a line. prolly not.

The ONLY thing that can save Sprint is to offer 4G as the same price as 3G. That would kill the competition!

Good to see Sprint stepping up their game and fighting back hard. Big props to Sprint.
