Sprint Palm Pre free at RadioShack through next Saturday 43
If you’re still waiting to jump on the webOS bandwagon, we’ve got good news for Sprint lovers: if you head over to RadioShack in the next two weeks, you can pick up a Palm Pre or Palm Pixi on contract for the low price of nothing. While the Pixi has been free for a while (depending on where you’re looking), it’s rare to see the Pre available for free.
The RadioShack sale runs through March 27th, and is, of course, open only to new Sprint subscribers. If you’re already on Sprint, well, you’ll be paying money upfront for your Pre or Pixi. Of course, these phones require at least a $69.99/month Everything Data plan with a two-year contract, so a free phone is a difference of $50 or $100 on a nearly $1800 commitment.
Thanks to everybody who sent this in and to Derek for the photo!

That's a qualifying "new 2-year agreement". Isn't an upgrade a new 2-year agreement? It doesn't say "new contract".
Free for people new to Sprint and new lines on family plans. $80 for Sprint users at the end of their two year agreement and signing up for the next two years.
I went and got mine yesterday as an upgrade - it is $79.99 for the upgrade. Still a great deal though.
But yes, it is only free for new contracts.
Will it work for secondary lines?
It is free for new lines to a family plan as well.
And the big reason for Sprint for families ... unlimited data and texts, TV, radio, 1500 shared minutes, AND unlimited calls to ANY cell. That is $130 for two lines and $20 for each line after.
That is a life saver for families with teens.
It's a lifesaver for me and my girlfriend as well. After discount for working where I do, it's like $112/month for way more minutes than we could ever use and unlimited everything else.
My only wish is that they would put out an even cheaper plan with less daytime minutes since we are both at work during weekdays and rarely use the phone for voice. Almost all of our voice is used after 7pm or on weekends when it is free anyway, not to mention that probably 98% of our calls are to mobile lines which are free anyway.
I feel like they are really selling unlimited data these days and tacking on minutes as an afterthought.
I just got my wife a new Pre thru a Sprint store last week by upgrading to family plan. How do I make Sprint to match Radio Shack??
Sprint won't match Radioshack. The reason Radioshack is discounted is because Sprint gives them money per phone sold. Any additional amount they charge beyond that amount is even more profit.
I'll be long a slightly painful process but return the phone switch back to a normal single line. Then go to radioshack and go to the family plan get the phone and yada yada yada. Easier said then done believe me. It can be done in one day just take about 3-5 hr
If it was a new add a line all you have to do is return the phone to sprint, you have 30 days, and go to radioshack. If sprint doesnt BS you, all should be well. Keep in mind you will lose your phone number associated with that pre. If that is fine than return it and go into the shack.
I work at the Shack, and for and upgrade pretty sure it's only 79.99. Very excited about this :)
Seconding that the upgrade price of a Pixi is 50 and a Pre, 80. Fellow Shacker.
how much is pixi with the "1 year" discount? $125?
Finally, a price befitting the high build quality of the Palm Pre.
.....hahahahahahaha, who am I kidding, they might be able to increase their market share, a little, if they paid people to take'em.
Y'know what's really pathetic? People with nothing better to do with their day than frequent the forums of phones they don't have... I wonder if this guy's welfare check covers the monthly cost of his iCan't.
Hey... some of us read this site to see deals and read about palm even though we don't have a webos phone yet. :(
Double post
Sad thing is you registered for that incredibly lame comment
Well ... They added two Pre's today. Mine and my daughter's. And a third come end of the week when I upgrade my wife's phone. And I get the added bonus of pointing out all the features for a far better price than my friend's iPhone when we get the families together for a shared vacation.
But hey, I'm sure you don't care about the real world anyway.
if you're opening a brand new account.. depending on where you work or if you bank at a credit union, you can tell the ppl @ Radioshack to slap on a discount on the monthly bill. credit union members get free activation and 10% off their monthly bill. (existing accounts will have to contact sprint directly)
also, not to mention ALL phones at radioshack have INSTANT REBATES!! no mail-in rebate bs :D
Never mind, I am an idiot.
just checked radioshack.com and it's not on there about the pre being free. Can someone tell me where this photo came from.

The online store and actually going to a radioshack are different when it come to Phones. That done through a 3rd party. The picture came from the sale tag. I know this because I work for the company.
hmm... see http://radioshackwireless.com/mobile/sprint.aspx?referringdomain=radiosh...
scroll down a bit, "free after instant discount"...
I'm doing it. Now I just hope I don't have buyers regret if an awesome upgrade to the pre comes out this summer!
If you are the primary line for a family plan you get the upgrade every year rather than every two.
thanks for the link. Just checked it out. Saweet
This add promotes a 3 Mega-pixel camera. Isn't it only 2 Mega-pixel???
The ad is correct. Pre is 3 Mega-Pixel. Pixi is 2 Mega-Pixel.

ya I work at "the shack" and I just put up the tags for the free pre and pixi. Any new contract with data qualifies which includes adding a line or starting a new line. From what I've HEARD also is that the first 4G phone is expected to be the HTC supercharge and the palm c40 will follow. Just overheard a sprint rep talking, I dont know how legit it is.

yes this totally legit! Its free (for new customers) :D
I actually was eligible for an upgrade so I got a new pre today at radio shack for $80 (before Taxes... here in LA its 9.75% so i paid under $140)
I love Palm, but daaaaaaaaaaaaamn. Its about time. Great ad! Keep 'em coming.
What happened to calling it The Shack? Good deal for new customers though.
Wow, talk about timing. This weekend my girlfriend was going to go on a family plan with me, and we were planning on getting her a palm pre.
One question, though. When they say the sale runs through saturday, does that mean i can still get it free ON saturday, or do i have to have it done by FRIDAY?
I will be good untill that sunday
got two more on my family plan. free
So if you open a new Sprint family plan with two lines, can you get two free Pres?
Also, can any Shackers confirm that you cannot apply EVP discounts?
most new shackers don't know how to apply EVP discounts.. but my sprint rep showed us how to do it step-by-step for new accounts only :D
for existing accounts.. u will have to call or visit a sprint store
Pft, an EVP chat rep told me you CAN'T get EVP discounts anywhere but on the website. Oh, if my Shack has someone that knows how to do them, that'd be excellent! And it will indeed be a new account. Thanks!
ya I work at the shack and all I do to get a customer a discount is call sprint from there phone before they leave and have them add it on for me.
This sale price is still valid through April 16th 2010 as RadioShack is getting rid of all their stock on this phone. Best Buy Mobile will match this price!!! Most RadioShack stores are either out of stock or soon will be, act now! I just bought a new Sprint Pre from Best Buy Mobile for the matched upgrade price of $79.99. I love Best Buy Mobile!!!
