Sprint Training Video: Gestures 17

by Dieter Bohn Mon, 11 May 2009 9:24 am EDT

Happy Monday, everybody.  Reminiz sent in a tip that Coal over at Sprint Gurus has posted another Sprint Training video.  As with the last two that we've seen, the video gets a basic concept across but doesn't go into very much depth.  This time it's the back gesture.

A "back gesture" or "back button" is actually an important and useful tool on a smartphone.  Anybody who has used Windows Mobile Standard, Blackberry, and others quickly realizes how nice it is to just "go back" and also quickly realizes that there are "edge cases" where what exactly a back button should *do* is unclear.  Discounting the Treo 500 (as is our wont), this is actually the first time Palm has implemented a "back" functionality, so it will be interesting to see how they handle edge cases.

Thanks Reminiz!

Yeah. It looks like the Doc to Go icon to me too. Woohoo!!! Look to the right of that. Looks like an Adobe PDF Reader app.

There are plenty of videos out there showing multi-touch. Like the person above me stated, he's just showing how to zoom in on a specific area.

It can do both.

Do your research buddy, it's more complicated than that:

This is just an intro to a more in-depth section from what I can gather. Just a couple of simple neat features to get going.

Do you mean you don't like the way the zoom is animated? kind of like a snap and focus effect.. I don't understand your comment.

Very true, it looks like some sort of quick scroll/jump , it's not toggle page because it goes further than that...
