Stonetrip's Shiva 1.9 3D game engine beta adds support for webOS 10
Stonetrip has added webOS support to the latest iteration of its ShiVa 3D gaming engine, and developers now have another weapon to add to their arsenal (including the excellent Unreal Engine 3) for developing and porting PDK applications. For those not in the know, ShiVa is a game builder that offers a graphical WYSIWYG editor and has full support for both OpenGL ES 1.1 and 2.0 along with a whole slew of important 3D technologies including advanced shading and the automatic handling of post-rendering effects.
The engine powers a whole laundry list of games available on the iOS platform, and a quick perusal of some of those titles on Stonetrip's website should whet the appetite of many a webOS user, as many of them are sure to pop up in the App Catalog given how easy it is to write once and deploy on multiple platforms with ShiVa.
Interested parties should hit the source link for details on how to get into the beta and head on over to the Palm Developer Forums for further discussion.

awesome, simply awesome :D
so many anouncments of great stuff coming or opening to webos... Sadly that's all we have since we own a pre great stuff to hear know we just have to wait for the stuff to happen and with hp it will...so cool my upgrade is end of september on sprint hope the new palm is then out and then finally after one year of being the out nerd having to be ashamed of having this great phone then finally I'll be a in nerd...believe it or not it wasn't easy to stick with webos but after almost a year of waiting and hoping...it seems that our time has finally arrived rise and shine... Palm
Unless PreCentral has information they haven't shared, they should stop reporting the Unreal Engine 3 as a tool available for webOS developers. As far as I've seen, Epic did a technology demonstration, but has not yet released it for production use.
w00t w00t... WebOS is getting a lot of great attention since HP/Palm merger! Man I can't wait and see what they cook up for us! xD
Oh I'm excited...Looking forward to seeing what they have to offer and what's new with their latest release! Sorli...
palm is doomed !!!! I can't believe all of you wasted your money on that junk!
kidding ;-)
happy days are here again!!!!
I'm sure developers want to get in quick while all apps are 50% off yet they still reap full credit.
I'd personally love to see some "new" 3D games pop up for WebOS. Seems all we get are ports for games written for other systems. Heck they don't even need to be games for that matter just something original.
