TED app coming to webOS [video] 21

TED for webOS

TED, no it’s not some guy galavanting around an office with Portia de Rossi - it's an amazing non-profit group dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.” We’re fully onboard with spreading good ideas in philosophy, technology, health, environmentalism, politics, and, well everything. So we’re happy to see TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) coming to webOS in the form of the almighty app.

The new app brings the full TED web experience to the phone, including the slick TEDTalks board. The TED app will bring videos and podcasts of all the latest TEDTalks (TED conference presentation by luminaries in everything) with the option to save your favorites for later watching/listening. You can even get notifications of the latest TEDTalks added to the site.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the TED app will also integrate with webOS 2.0. This comes in the form of Just Type, enabling you to search through all of the TEDTalk recordings by, well, just typing. There’s more to TED for webOS, but we’ll just let the video do the explaining. Superb! I watch TED lectures as often as I can, and having them available on WebOS will be a huge convenience!

TED has an amazing collection of video presentations. It is worth checking out.

Right now, you can use drPodder to get the podcast at feeds.feedburner.com/tedtalks_video. However, there are so many videos it's hard to find the one you want.

A dedicated app will be great!

Great! Glad to see this coming.

Oh, and like anything else you watch, just having the app available doesn't mean you check your brain in at the door. No matter what your views are on TED, having this as a choice is good.
