Think Beyond developer event full 41
by Dieter Bohn Wed, 26 Jan 2011 2:36 pm EST

Developers hoping to get in on Palm's special February 9th event designed just for them take note: the event is full up and there's no more room for more. Palm said space would be limited and, yep, that limit is reached. If you're still looking for a chance to see the action, Palm did announce a Twitter contest last night, so a tweet before January 31st is your last, best hope to see exactly what HP and Palm have in store.

holla!
i can't wait for the big reveal. Go Palm!
cann't wait...why is it taking so long
Maybe because it's scheduled on Feb. 9th??
Why are they doing it so late in the day? It will be 10pm on east coast, which is where I am, when they start. They certianly won't be making the news until the next day, the same day the Verizon iPhone launches. Why does Palm keep shooting itself in the foot?
Don't whine. It will be even late in Europe and I don't see any European complaining, you have to understand that you're not the center of the world.
You're asking for way too much from him.
false :)
I believe the late timing is only for the developer event, not the main event.
That is correct. The announcement will be made at the morning press event.
yeah i said the same thing but i think the guy is right. that this is like a developer how to event. its' not the announcement. That said i'd agree that i still don't get why it's so late. Cause i'd be at happy hour by 6:00 trying to get my drink on and Fort Mason ain't really near squat. Kinda close to the Marina but i never did happy hour there since i worked downtown.
As mentioned above, I do believe there are two events. One in the morning and one in the evening. The morning one will probably have all the good announcements.
The press event is in the morning. The developer event is in the evening. Most developers have day jobs and can't skip out for a webOS presentation. Quit whining.
That is the developer event. The press event is at 10 am (1pm EST, 6pm GMT), perfectly on time for everyone to print the story.
No. Announcements will be 10 AM west coast time in SF. This is the post-announcement party that is in the evening. Check the original announcement.
shot in the foot, bounced up and blew away left nut too
Note to self (and others) - Next time you're invited, jump on it!
This is fantastic news! HP will reveal their new line of WebOS-based products and support services at this compelling event. This is quite an achievement when you consider HP only recently acquired the now former Palm company.
Glad to see the developers filing in and filling the house.
sweet so that means that all that got confirmation are going. It would be so sweet if they gave us devs lol (still working on my first app) new devices at the dev event like they did in nyc for devday
so whens the next webOS meetup?
how about west coast developer day/camp? C'mon palm the time is now, CARPE DIEM!
Glad I registered immediately. I'm in. I can't wait! Anyone else here going?
+1 :)
I too plan to be there, and def down for a meetup before! (and hoping for an after party too!)
SmartKidsOnTheRun. 5 posts and he gets front page. lol
Hopefully, HPalm will announce availability of Enyo to developers.
Hmm, I wonder how many people registered but do not plan to attend?
yeah I remember them mentioning a waiting list..
I'm excited. I can't imagine HP artificially lowered the capacity count (they want as many devs as possible). This means there is tremendous interest in developing for webOS! By the way, the venue is huge, so we're looking at thousands of devs, if at capacity.
Come On Smart Phone, Smart Phone, Smart Phone... GO PRE 3 ON EVERY NETWORK. I can Dream can't I.
7-9:30 PM !???
Damn that's late. Especially for the east coast.
stop worrying about iphone. what does it matter anyway? people are going to buy iphones. theres nothing anyone could do about that. i just hope hp releases a damn good phone and brings it on sprint or im going to be buying a verizon iphone as well.
how much they charge to go to feb 9th event? I live in SF so I wanna see wat they got for me
I just don't understand, why wouldn't HP want to have a large venue to host this to accommodate all developers. They need to court as many developers as possible!
Who here is going? Let's meet up?
why did i put a question mark on the end of that...i'm ron burgundy?
In before the fill! Haha. I'll be sure to make a forum thread of what goes on at the Dev Event.
Any word on if the event will be live-streamed?
sounds like a strong no on that (theyre worried about live blunders)
first palm didn't even know about the iphone launch before they made there announcement. Second its still an iphone 4 nothing new about it and it just a launch its not like its an new annoucment of the iphone 5 so please shutup
I'm glad I signed up early - this little even gives me a decent excuse to escape the snow for a couple of days in California. I'm looking forward to seeing what HP/Palm has in store for us.
