Today's Round up: More Pre News than you could possibly believe
We don't typically go for daily roundups (we leave 'em for the weekend), but the amount of Palm Pre news today was unexpectedly high and unexpectedly important.
It all started with the big leak of the Palm Pre User Manual, which gave us gobs of crunchy Pre goodness including learning that you can add a contact-specific 'reminder' which will pop up when that contact pops up on your phone. There was plenty more to learn, and our forum members are on the case if you're interested.
- We also learned that you cannot download Amazon music over Sprint's network, you have to use WiFi. Bad News!
- We also (giddily) broke the news that the webOS supports IMAP IDLE, which means any IMAP account that supports IDLE (i.e. Gmail) will push to your Palm Pre. Good News!
- We confirmed that the Pre will come to AT&T after Sprint's exclusivity runs out.
- We had a forum member post a photo of the Pre in-hand and begin answering questions about it (including, we might add, streaming MP3s straight off PreCentral.net!).
- We found plenty of photos taken by the Palm Pre and our crazy-good forum members found even more.
- ...and finally, we just broke the news that if you want a Pre on launch day, you're going to have to schlep your way to a physical store, because sprint.com and Telesales won't have it.
All that's not even the half of what you could have learned about the Palm Pre if you've been watching our Pre Forums. If you're not registered yet, you should be, if only to get a chance to win yourself a copy of the PalmOS Emulator Classic. Plus, if you're registed, you can get yourself a copy of that sweet wallpaper Doc31 created above, plus a few more.
