Want an HP TouchPad? Well, you better act fast, because the tablet is trickling out to random retailers in small batches and selling out in the blink of an eye. Today alone the TouchPad popped up at TigerDirect and QVC, and at the all-too-tempting fire sale pricing, sold out in just minutes. QVC even had the TouchPad as a $200 bundle with a Touchstone and case, and they sold out before we could even get an article up. See keep your eyes peeled – if you see a TouchPad for sale, jump on it. There might be more coming in several weeks, but until then they’re an endangered species being hunted to the brink of extinction in the wild.

Did anyone actually see the QVC bundle for sale? Just wondering if they updated their TP page to reflect the e-mail price that went out today.

Yes. Got very lucky, was actually googling for Pre 3's in the UK, where I might get one off contract and shipped....went to slickdeals.net and saw a link to QVC.
When I went there I spent about 5 minutes re-reading it thinking "this must just be accessories, no way it includes 32gb TouchPad"
Pulled the trigger, told my friends and they all missed out
Same thing. Saw the deal on Engadget, jumped to QVC to read the deal...and re-read it...before I went to SlickDeals to see if I was missing something.
Once confirmed that it was, in fact, a 32 GB TP, an HP Case, and a touchstone dock for $199 (no tricks) from a reputable vendor, I jumped in for one.
I then pinged a friend who took about ten minutes to get to the order page...and it was OOS.
They went fast. Probably going to pass this whole bundle to him...since I have a 16GB already.
BTW, mine shipped today.
I put in my order but before I could finish, the website was saying out of stock... But I still had it in my cart, so I was able to finish... Wonder if I will get it...
Same thing happened here, good thing it was in my cart. I got the confirmation email though, so fingers crossed.
I happened to see it on Engadget - and immediately ordered it. After I completed the order (and my CC has already been charged) people were saying that it was sold out.
Along with idiots claiming $200 is too much for it...I don't see how this is not a great deal - unless you really really really didn't want touchstone/case.
Yep, saw it on engadget too as soon as it was posted. Added around 5 of them and checked out quickly. This was a good deal. Waiting on tracking numbers before listing on ebay.
And you are selling them for $300 per, of course. Hope your order gets cancelled.

Why would you hope that? This QVC deal was a bit unexpected but I'm glad i was able to take advantage of it. This is HP making things right.
The cool thing is that I was able to get 5 more afterwards for a total of 10. Just had to refresh site a few times. That should probably do good enough til the HP firesale II.

As an update, i got tracking for both orders. Should make a nice profit to put towards the shopping budget for xmas.

I'd like to thank my fellow webOS users for their support. For my part, i'm leading the buyers to Precentral and encouraging them to use Preware.
But it takes some token effort to get in on these deals. Donations made to me would be welcomed for my continued support.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! My order went through (though, I won't celebrate too much until I see the shipping confirmation). QVC, baby! Should get here Wednesday (the same day my HP order was *SUPPOSED to be here, not 6-8 weeks later). Sigh. What a couple of weeks this has been.

I know I keep checking my order status for a tracking number every five minutes so I can finally know I really do have one on the way. Funny, my macmall order still has a staus of "in process" since 8/21.
I just called QVC, I've been waiting for a tracking # since 5:30 and wondered how long it took for a tracking #, cs didn't have the tracking # yet but said my order was being processed for shipment.

got a call to pick up my 2 from pc richards today that were ordered on 8/20. asked if they had more available at the store for purchase and they said nope. they are getting them in a few at a time. i was expecting them to cancel the order so the call was surprising to say the least given the reputation of the chain. i need 2 more for my kids and i'm done shopping lol
CALL QVC - I just scored a TouchPad bundle for my mother.
I called to ask about the bundle rebate noted below and how it would affect my payment, and while on the phone asked if anymore were/would be available. The lady checked inventory and said there were 6 available, so I ordered one.

Don't give up on QVC yet. I checked the website when I got home (about 7:00 p.m. EST) Didn't see one when I searched. 15 minutes later I checked again & was able to order one. Just checked the status on the website & it says "In Stock" and "Label Printed". My credit card was charged already. Hopefully this means the order went through...

How about getting HP to make some TouchPads available *only* to PreCentral members?
Maybe some sort of "Group Buy"?
It really is the least HP could do, considering the loyalty of the folks on here.

hate to agree with you but I must. there will be hundreds of unused touchpads in a couple months for people who thought that their moms, dads, grandmas, little siblings and cousings, and dogs would all find use for the HP touchpad. It really sucks that the hardcore webOS fans who have been waiting for the tablet since the Sprint Pre but couldn't shell out $500 are missing out. HP, if they were serious about maintaining webOS should have at least made sure to send out more TPs to the devs and then maybe the webOS faithful before the masses got wind of a deal.
So the devs could sell them instead like they've done in the past? No thanks. If you're a hardcore webOS fan, you can buy one as easily as the resellers can. Quit whining.

People like you who try to take advantage of the webOS community and profit from us are certainly not going to be welcomed here with open arms.
You certainly have the right to do what you are doing - no one will argue with that. But in doing so, you hurt our community and limit it's growth, so of course we don't like you.
But that comes with the path you have chosen - you are acting as a merchant or capitalist, and you've made it clear that is what is most important to you.
By coming here - the largest and most popular FAN site for all things webOS and celebrating the fact that you intend to take advantage of us, and then telling us WE are the ones who should "quit whining", you are being at best, an unwise merchant, and the tone of your posts on this thread tells me you are much worse than that.
If you want to be a seller, I suggest you get a thicker skin - and there is certainly no need for you come here to rub our noses in your good fortune.
If instead, you want to be a part of the community, you could:
1. Organize or just attend a webOS meetup.
2. Write some apps or patches.
3. Can't code? Write some documentation.
4. Don't have time? Donate to homebrewers, like webOS Internals, or Jason Robitaille, or others.
5. Don't have money? Help answer questions from newbies here on the PreCentral forums.
6. ...and if you REALLY want to do right by the community, or just assuage your guilty conscience, find some webOS enthusiasts in your home town or here on PreCentral who don't already have a TouchPad, and offer to sell one of yours to them at the same cost you got it for.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
No, i think i'll continue to do the selling thing. I've already been the good webOS supporter (for years) and got banned for my efforts. I'll support webOS as i see fit. I'll take a cue from everyone else who needs donations for their support and consider the selling of Touchpads as my cut.
You see, the "supporters" of webOS here didn't want to hear anything "negative" concerning HP. They put their heads in the sand and now look, HP dumped webOS. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
Perhaps Precentral should have taken a more aggressive role and not waited til after the fact to finally list all the "obvious" miscues from HP. What did being the blind cheerleader get you?

I didn't hear about this until 8am this morning and by the time I went to both sites, they were out. I got on the e-mail list for tigerdirect.com so hopefully will hear from them when some come in "in the coming weeks".
Yea that sucks! it's so hard to get one of those TP's right now. Ohh well though HP isn't going to keep "fire selling" them for a $200 loss forever. poor webOS has been a money pit for them. Has anyone else noticed the intense HP add blitz lately? i've noticed a ton of their commercials on tv as well as the radio. seems like they are trying to stay "positive"
Dark_Blu - keep checking. I checked QVC a couple hours after they supposedly sold out on Friday. No Touchpads. I checked again 15 minutes later and it was listed. I placed it in my cart, made my purchase. Got an email this morning that my order has shipped. Don't give up!
I've been checking all day and when I put "HP Touchpad" into a search, it comes back with everything but a Touchpad. I'll keep checking. If Tigerdirect.com gets any in, I'll get an e-mail from them on my two e-mail accounts.

I also ordered the TP on QVC last friday, but when i am checking the status it still says "IN PROCESS OF SHIPPING", is that normal...?
If you get a tracking number then your good... I have my tracking number and its definitely on its way... already picked up by UPS...

I'm in the same position. I looked at the page after getting a tip on twitter. It said sold out, I randomly hit refresh and it had the quick buy and add to cart options up so I hit quick buy, then it said it was sold out so I clicked the back button and then selected add to cart. Completed the transaction and got an email confirming the order. It said in the process of shipping immediately after the order. In the details the status said in process 9/9/2011 and Label printed 9/9/2011, after midnight label printed changed to 9/10/2011 and today it changed to 9/11/2011. My order was submitted at 7:27 ET so I don't know what's up. It remains at in the process of shipping.

according to my confirmation mail, the estimated delivery date is 09/16/11, so i thought it might take a couple of days til they ship it, but now i read here that others already got the information that their tp is on its way...hhm, i think that doesnt sound good.

I submitted my order around 11:50pm ET, and I got my shipping email & tracking # early this morning. Though when I check UPS, there's no activity yet, so I'm not sure if UPS already has my package in their facility yet.
