Touchstone charger available for free online with AT&T Palm Pre Plus purchase 17
If you're anything like Dieter, then you've already headed out to your local AT&T store to pick up the GSM Palm Pre Plus. If so, then perhaps you read our earlier report that the $149.99 price tag includes a Touchstone thrown in the mix for in-store purchases - as long as you buy at a corporate store.
If you don't live near a store and have to e-shop it then I've got good news since deal is for online customers too. If you view the Pre Plus on their smartphone page (it's the one almost near the bottom under the iPhones... no, under the Blackberrys... keep going, AH there!). You'll see that on the right hand side of the Pre Plus page that you're presented with a Bundle package that includes the Touchstone charging dock. Select that to ensure you get the deal.
Meanwhile, going to the store Dieter and a few others have reported that getting that free Touchstone was more troublesome than expected since there wasn't a proper SKU for the freebie in the system. Bummer!

AT&T really needs to put the Pre in a better place on their phone list... Also, why can't the Pre's picture have it's real homescreen versus that ugly AT&T logo that other 'dumbphones' have?

placed my order for the Pre at AT&T's website at 12:30 pm yesterday...I just received an email from AT&T "The items in your order are currently out of stock and will be shipped when inventory becomes available. When the items in your order ship, we'll send you an email with the ship tracking number(s)."

I need a cheap touchstone source in Canada
Is Radio Shack (or The Shack) not in Canada? I was in there this past weekend and they had the Touchstone for $20. They're available online also.
All the RadioShacks were bought out by Circuit City, subsequently by Bell. All renamed to the The Source, and pricing is equivalent to Bell stores.
Yeah, checked the source's website, don't even have touchstones on there.
Radioshack had Touchstone's for 19.99 over the weekend, don't know if the deal is ongoing but I was pretty pumped to see that price!

Can anyone that is currently a customer get the pre/Touchstone combo on line. When I click on it and log in to my account, it is not listed in the available "stuff".
Same here. I have 5 phones on the family plan and am time eligible to upgrade my almost dead Palm Centro. But the online offer I get does not seem to include the Touchstone. Think I'll stop by my local AT&T store tomorrow and try to get it there.
I got lucky. Thanks to the lack of a freebie SKU for the Touchstone, I managed to get not just the free dock, but an entire Touchstone Expansion Kit (with extra wall adapter and USB cable). Thanks AT&T!

AT&T doesn't value it's existing long-term customers apparently. I called customer service today to ask why I couldn't get the package with free overnight and a touchstone online and was told that existing customers were not able to get a package deal of any kind. Seriously considering Verizon after 6 years of AT&T.

Guys, my Pre came with Touchstone at ATT with either an upgrade or when I bought it outright. Either way I got the touchstone. The reps were like "wow, this comes with a charger base free". They did not know until I told them....
