Twitter launches new mobile site preview 16
While there is a plethora of webOS Twitter clients to choose from, if none of those are to your liking there’s always the Twitter website. Right now, the mobile Twitter page - m.twitter.com - is a bit lacking in its functionality, especially for high-powered mobile browsers like those on the iPhone, Android, and webOS platforms.
Realizing the power of these mobile WebKit browsers, Twitter has been working on an enhanced mobile portal. The recently launched preview site - mobile.twitter.com - leverages the power of the browsers while also delivering a cleaner more polished Twitter experience than the current mobile site. The new mobile site is still a work in progress (search doesn’t appear to be fully functional at this time), but once it is complete it will transition over to take the place of the current mobile portal.

Finally! :) It doesn't look incredibly finger-friendly, however.
I personally use Universal Search to query tweets, by the by.
I do as well...I don't really see much need to add comments, so Universal Search is a good quick way to find out what's happening on a specific topic.
Twitter & Facebook apps on WebOS are useless. The Pre can lod the whole twitter & facebook pges just like on my PC. Any mobile site or app will have reduced functionality. My Pre even loads the facebook chat when I load the main page. End of discussion. No need for twitter & facebook apps or mobile pages.
To be fair, every webOS Twitter app I've tried has MORE functionality than twitter.com.
...and are equal to or better than desktop clients.
+1
Last time I checked twitter.com isn't capable of image previews, direct image uploading, conversation views, local search, notifications (although I admit I prefer using twextme.com notifications in favor of battery life), simultaneous multiple account access... Not to mention the convenience of integrating other websites like twitturly and stocktwits. All that and more, plus faster loading, screen optimization and finger-friendliness rolled into one simple package.. Just a few reasons Pre users would prefer an app. ;-)
I use twitpic & just email my photos. I find it easier that any app I have tried. Anone I have the tweeta that I really wanna make sure I see sent to my phone in sms form anyway. Could just be personal prerence. The web browser on my pre is so good I almost never do any web searching on my pc. When flash gets to the pre I will probably use my pre for even more web browsing than before. I do go through 2 batteries minimum a day. Lol.
I use Tweed and find it a great app.
I have tweed on my Pre. It is def the best twitter app available for the pre (I have tried twee & sneed or whatever that other one that released the same time as tweed was). My only problem was that tweed semmed to take longer 2 load than the website & sometimes won't load until I kill it & open it again.
I find the Facebook app useful. Sure it only is for news feeds, but thats nice to have. It is like a twitter app.
Well any PC site is better than a app that's obvious, but as far as in and out ease. The app for Facebook on Pre is in its 1st version and when twitter come out with an offical app for the Pre we will see the same thing.. All in good time :) But this new Twitter site looks cool and is free which is how it should be. The one's you pay for are the one's that are useless.
Agreed Robtrot. why would anyone want to use the app when you get the full page with chat?
I dont even chat on facebook, I use it for news feed only. I got tired of zooming in on every page I went to. that is why I use the app
you guys need to watch this... Best thing you will see all year....

Just take my word...
