Unofficial PreCentral Apps for webOS are the new hotness 22
While the wait for the official PreCentral webOS app has been as bad as the wait for the next superphone out of Palm (seriously, we know and we have a plan), the gap has been filled in by a couple more enterprising developers.
First up, the Unofficial PreCentral News app from ScienceApps. It's available both in the Official App Catalog and as a bleeding-edge Beta. We have to say: it's a very well-done app-skin on top of our existing mobile site at m.precentral.net with menu jumps to all your favorite sections.
Another app to keep an eye on is "No Name Beta" by Newness Developments. It's a Tapatalk-based app that turns our PreCentral Forums into a native webOS app. They're looking for a new name, if you hadn't guessed, and you can go suggest one in this thread. We're working to make our forums play a little nicer with the app, but for forum-hounds we're going to go ahead and call it a must-install.

You have a plan? Just like the Cylons supposedly had a plan? :)
hey I am posting this from that app and I must say... I like!
I'm getting an error when trying to download no name beta fro, the link - This is not a valid webOS application.
Not a valid webOS application.
Yep, I'm getting the same error!
I use the mobile site more then the app. But when I am in a poor signal area the app always works which is great.
I like the app. I use it alot. I have one issue or it maybe just me but it doesn't load embedded links in the forum post and sometimes news threads. Other than that is a pretty nice app.
I can't get the PreCentral forums to work in Tapatalk.
Using the Precentral App...it's awesome :)
have been sing the pre central app and I agree the inbedded links do not work :(
You guys forgot the first precentral app called PreCentral (Unofficial) by JDF software. Somewhat fewer features but a nice clean interface.
Let me guess, your plan is to wait for Flash?
a plan? Is it on hold because HP is going to buy PC?
I'm ok with waiting, but please tell us what the plan is, for pete's sake!
just make the links to the forums on the mobile page jump to the mobile version of the forums. would be enough for me.
Ditto.
Great app ~ using it now, but I still prefer the full site using my pre. (You have access to see and do more things..like on your PC. ^_^
Maybe we need a PRRREEEEEEEEECEENNTRAAAAAAAAL guy to label our demands. ;)
enjoying the PC App mutiple times a day, now trying forum interface.
Hello, I'm the developper of Precentral News app. If you want more features, please let me know on homebrew apps forum : http://forums.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/263604-unofficial-precentral-...
If you want to see my other apps, check this link : http://bit.ly/bxrOJa

Love the PreCentral News Ap! Gives you the FULL screen...
personally I just use News room most of the time (would be right now but it appears to be down temporarily). It doesn't give you access to the comments but it does provide a link to the web page. Plus, it alerts you when new articles are posted so no more frantic checking of an app only to find no new articles. Oh, and do the same for engadget and webOS roundup and whatever general news app you have and all of a sudden you've saved yourself 3 app spaces :-)
This works for me way better than the mobile site... Maybe it's because the Canadians have a shittier coverage. This app is great and I hope it serves an inspiration for you guys to come out with an Engadget-Esq type of app.
